Am I the only one who thinks that Cloud Nothings are way over rated?

I haven’t listened to the whole album yet but so far I like Treats better. I feel like Treats was more chaotic and at the same time more catchy which is how I feel I feel most first good albums are compared to second albums. Maybe my opinon will change though over time.

Well there’s no reason for bitching lol

I think it is kind of lame when musicians show up late to a show, but the audience can always just leave if they don’t like it. However, in this case I doubt anyone would want to miss a Kanye West show because of 45 minutes.

Stereogum acts like Kanye is the greatest thing ever because he is the greatest thing ever lol.

I like Treats better so far but we will see. Sophomore slump can be a bitch.

Sorry for repeating Simon Chapman lol

No Pumpkins after that great interview lol? I normally hate how people treat Pitchfork like it’s the all knowing, but the bands that recorded Pitchfork’s top 3 albums of 09 are all releasing records in 2012 (Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, and The XX in case you didn’t know). So I am pretty excited about that. Also, Santogold and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs should be releasing new music.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again . I love Corgan and his interviews. I think he is really smart and insightful. I saw them in concert two years ago and he killed it with some new songs. Then he went off and came out with some of that Teargarden stuff that wasn’t that great. I hope he returns to his routes and Oceania blows everyone away.

Totally agree with the Pithcfork comment

I’m surprised Generationals aren’t on more lists too.

I’m just surprised both Bon Iver and M83 aren’t both higher up.

Even though I love Los Campesinos, I wasn’t too happy about Hello Sadness.

True. I’m just surprised such a “metal” band is thriving in such an indie arena. I think it’s because they’re so different.

Just because Sleigh Bells is coming out with a heavy album next year and a few hardcore bands are on the up and up doesn’t mean that hardcore is making a comeback. I’m from Orange County where the “hardcore scene” was huge and it’s definitely dead. Sorry man.

I love Sleigh Bells. Do you think their over the top – in your face hardcore sounds is them being ironic or do you think they really dig it? I mean I know Derek was in PTW so he has to be into hardcore but the way they do it seems ironic. Plus I question if the girl is into it. I saw them live and they had super loud heavy metal playing in the speakers before they want on. It was intense but seemed funny and over the top at the same time. You know what I mean?

This list is definitely different than I would expect most to be.

“However, if they blew up like The Pumpkins did, I think they might be getting the criticism today like Billy does.” They didn’t blow up, they stopped. If they stayed a band and wrote more than 2 records, there’s a good possibility at some point it might get worse. No one can stay gold forever. Except for The Beatles I guess. You’re really judging a band off of 2 albums that came out 20 years ago. Don’t get me wrong I think they are great though.

Zooey Deschanel could gain weight or lose weight and I would still find her as attractive.

I love how half of these posts are about Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins. I love when people talk about Billy Corgan period. He is the guy everyone loves to hate. But even though so many people make fun of him (even his own fans), you have to respect the guy. He made amazing music in the 90′s when so much of it was shit. Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream, and Adore are some of the best albums ever. And ya, his music today kind of sucks but he’s in his 40′s and has a whole new band. I respect him for still rocking despite all the criticism. I saw him about 2 years ago because my friend had an extra ticket and no joke it was one of the best concerts I’ve seen. 3 hours and I wasn’t bored for one minute. The guy rocked. I had seem SP before and he rocked harder the second time. Chamberlain was still in the band of course. Anyhow I’m hoping Oceania is good, if not he should probably just give up lol. But anyways ya, My Bloody Valentine Loveless pretty good album lol. Definitely influenced a lot of people. However, if they blew up like The Pumpkins did, I think they might be getting the criticism today like Billy does.

There needs to be more Missy Elliott on this list. And Radiohead #1? What about Beyonce? lol

Is it just me or does it look like he’s lip syncing? I think it’s just the video though. Pretty damn tight.
