why would you guys even post this? so ridiculous.
lol @ underrated? have you read any reviews of the record?
i only just realized the lack of the walkmen after reading your comment! I’m shocked, that record is excellent.
I’m shocked at the lack of Local Natives inclusions in the lists i’ve seen this year. Thats a good record.
To ignore Tame Impala from the top 20 and include the dog shit that is MIA’s MAYA, is absolutely criminal.
I knows its been mentioned countless times above so apologies for the repetition, but i find it really hard to digest that Kanye’s record is the BEST record of the year. I’m not joining the I HATE KAYNE bandwagon by any means, but agreed the dude is a tool.
I actually like the record, there’s no denying the guy is a genius when it comes to producing – he will always be up there as one of the greats. Thing is, his lyrics and rapping do not match the production high standards. I fail to see how kanye has developed as a rapper since his first album (which i still think is excellent).
For pitchfork to give that album a 10.0 is laughable. To me, a 10/10 record should be complete and timeless. Will anyone be listening to MBDTF in 10 years? i think not. This is not a complete album – yes tracks like Power, Monster and Runaway are excellent tracks – but there’s definitely some fillers on there (not to mention a few mins of Chris Rock babbling on). And John Legend? REALLY?
On a lighter note, glad to see the Beach House record getting so much love. it really is one of the years best albums – stellar from start to finish.
JJ – No.3 though? That’s a shocker right there (and i loved no.2).
yeah yeah, its thom yorke.
but more to the point, LOOK AT HER SHOES. a fashion faux pas if ever i saw one…
i like his american apparel scarf in the picture….
the fact that nme do a “cool list” is disgusting enough, but to re-post this utter drivel is just as bad.
nme are about as use to “indie” music as a chocolate teapot is to the queen’s butler.
great record.
agreed. just leave off any die antwoord vids from now on….DO NOT get it!!!
anything by nickelback brings me to tears….
GLARING omission from this mix – Sleigh Bells “Tell ‘Em”
robyn.
Apart from LCD’s show earlier this year, i’d have to say that that was one of the best live performances i’ve seen in a long time. people asked me if they could pull off msg, and i said they could, albeit a little reluctantly. they definitely did – immense.
Highlights for me were crown of love, we used to wait and of course, wake up. I dont think i’ll ever get the same feeling as i did when wake up kicked in. thousands of people singing. pretty amazing.
Regine is my new hero btw. she stole the show last night.
this record is great. im not sure what else to say.
sexual!
awesome.
incredible

the whole record is great!
