Field Report – Field Report
To put RHCP on any overrated list is just a giant fucking joke.
Macklemore – My Oh My
Was not as bad as I expected.
However, if you’re going to pretend you can play the guitar, play it. That guitar part isn’t hard, to half-ass it is infuriating.
Also, the first minute and a half was awful.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis + Doomtree + Childish Gambino + J. Cole
I don’t even like hip hop that much and that alone is a huge boost for Lolla. I’ll be really excited to see a mix of artists this year.
Bright Eyes – “A Machine Spiritual (In The People’s Key)”
@Tom – I’m pretty sure you undermined the validity of anything you may have been going to say with the phrase “bon iver hypey garbage”. Not only does that manage to make about as little sense as possible, while being horrendously vague, but it makes it pretty clear that you care less about the music and more about being a smart ass.
Pro-tip: Like music or don’t like it. Just don’t be a moron.
The point is that he wants to make music. And if people like that music, that’s awesome. But it’s never ABOUT selling the music. And in regards to the article, the point is that JV loves collaborating with people – but it has to be because the two musicians have something drawn them together, not because some corporate exec thinks they should. That being said, I think it may have bene prudent for JV to roll with the punches and make an interesting collaboration out of a dumb situation.
Needs more Charity Rose Thielen.
<3 Biggest crush ever.
Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Pickwick!!
Amongst many others already listed.
Why are you so mad?
Some guy, who happens to make really beautiful music, who also has been playing music for quite some time, shares a playlist of some music he likes.
Your response: Run screaming with your head cut off on a message board decrying him as a glorified yuppie/hipster because his music taste is (cue buzzword) “Ironic” and it upsets your delicate sensibilities.
Pro tip: Music is meant to be enjoyed. Go listen to the music you like. We’ll listen to the music we like. Additionally, get your head out of your ass – it makes it harder to enjoy music, I promise.
