I really enjoy the direction they've headed with this album. I am not at a point where I can start comparing it to other AC releases, but I definitely came into with lowered expectations (not really sure why) and was on board within the first 20 seconds of "Moonjock."
I can only assume that someone will seek out the parts of this article that aren't in complete adoration of the album and revolt.

The Aura of the H-Man, I agree totally with you about the audio track. I just commented elsewhere about the awful mix on this when I watched it on my tv. Didn't bother watching the video on here until I saw your comment. Now I'm glad I did.
I've listened to this twice already this morning. Now that I've listened to it, I wish that my digital download of the album was available. I am still very excited to spin the vinyl when it arrives soon, but I'm kind of obsessed right now and know the stream will be gone within 24 hours. White people problems.
Coxon's guitar playing was a big inspiration for me, so songs like "Bugman" and "Country Sad Ballad Man" really embrace some of those great elements, but "The Universal" and "Beetlebum" are still just incredibly hard to beat.

Is it wrong that some sick part of me wants to see the video where he got all the way to Santana's "Smooth," messed up because he got caught up in remembering how amazing Rob Thomas is as both a singer and songwriter, and then had to start back over again?

Last night was my first time ever at this venue. It's the clubhouse suites or whatever they are called that are the issue. I saw that a bunch of first pavilion seats went on sale the day of the show but soon after realized they were limited visibility seats because of the way this venue is set up.
We stuck with our lawn seats. We got a great spot and, even though I had heard horrible things about sound at this venue and worried that the lawn would be too far back, on such a beautiful, breezy night I'm so glad we were where we were at and I thought the sound was great throughout Caribou and Radiohead's sets. I liked being far back enough to see the stage set up in its entirety but close enough that I could still see what was happening onstage without having to stare at a screen.
I'm so glad that "The Love You Love" turned out so well in the studio. I pre-ordered the vinyl and now have to decide whether to stream this now or wait and hear it for the first time when the vinyl arrives very soon.
After their 10th anniversary show at Metro in January, I've been dying to hear studio versions of the new songs. They sound beautifully recorded, but there's some weird fear I have that some of the rawness might be lost because of the production. Can't wait for my vinyl to arrive soon to hopefully prove my fears to be unfounded.
I read that Animal Collective hated the experience of playing Lollapalooza when they were there last time. I'm curious if they would even consider playing again.
Not sure how true this is, but I had heard this was really more of a union issue. It may have been a band trying to excuse a shitty performance, but there was a claim that when TVOTR performed that their own sound people who were not union had to step aside and let the staff at SNL take over.
Saw this guy at Jewel one day, and I was worried he was going to criticize my choice of items so I turned down the opposite aisle as he lethargically perused cereal box covers.
