It’s the typical Stereogum formula for writing about classic rock: pretend to knowledgeable enough to appreciate and understand it, while at the same time maintaining that it’s lame because your dad likes it.
“Yo, I hate my mom for sending me to boarding school.”
That sounds like some A+ material right there.
Too bad I won’t be 14 enough to appreciate it when it comes out.

Mad props to Stereogum for mispelling Nardwuar. Much love to me for misspelling “misspelling.” Big ups to all you hipsters for talking like you’re street when discussing Kanye West and Odd Future despite that being the only rap you listen to.
The King of Limbs? Never heard of him.
I’m sold. Going on iTunes right now and downloading Weezer’s whole discography. Thanks Jesse!
>Not sure what happened to the first part of the set, though.
Perhaps you could start by R’ing TFA:
>…halfway through Mangum’s set I found myself running up the stairs…
Hard-hitting music journalism there, guys. Don’t ever change.
If you’re covering Kanye’s every move, why no mention when he said Coldplay are better than The Beatles?
>implying iTunes will the only option for digital music distribution in 50 years.
>implying iTunes will even exist in 50 years.
I’m pretty sure that what Pavement meant by “they have no function” was that the Pumpkins were notorious for having a dysfunctional relationship with each other. Corgan isn’t saying the same about Pavement, or even responding to “Range Life”, but the fact that members of Pavement and Mudhoney called the Pumpkins sell outs when they signed to Virgin. I’m pretty sure the song “Cherub Rock” is about that as well.

Yeah, these have been floating around for about two weeks now, without the embedded spam. Welcome to the Internet, Stereogum.

Ironic considering the most I ever spent on a concert ticket (over $100) was to see Elvis Costello.
