Boo, can’t hear these cuz i’m in canada. and i miss saves the day. what’s a girl to do
Five Seconds gets my vote! I was on shrooms in the park and we ran into these douche bags that kept screaming “Five Seconds! Play it!” So I played it and thus ruined it. Oh nevermind.
The Keepaway video made me so uncomfortable..
Lou Reed- Transformers yaaa
Arcade Fire isn’t considered a scrappy underdog in Polaris terms.. Final Fantasy beat out Broken Social Scene, Metric and The New Pornographers at one point. Patrick Watson beat Feist.. I genuinely thought they wouldn’t pick AF solely based on the fact that they have been winning all over the place. Just seems to be their M.O.
She loves this shit! It’s where she feels most at home, spewing out run-on sentences about how she’s been wronged and how she’ll “get you” in true tweenage angst fashion. I’m thoroughly entertained!
Where is “Afternoon Delight”?
I like both. And now this song will be stuck in my head all day.
I like this album but I also am wondering if the Double Take will be the negation of all of this gushing. That being said, I don’t think it’s not coming from somewhere. We’ve all waited so long to see what Fleet Foxes would put out, and the excitement when you first hear something and DON’T hate it, the comfort we feel when they DON’T go all out there and throw in some bleeps and bloops, might cloud our vision at first. But isn’t that what Premature Evaluation is about? Hype can ruin an album for us, and I think that’s normal.
It’s not crazy different from what they’ve always done, but I think I like that.
She is consistently climbing the ladder of awesomely spectacular.
Come back to Canada, Merrill :)
I agree that she stole the show when she opened for Dirty Projectors.. and when I saw her again as a headlining act it was definitely the best show I had been to in years. She played this song and it sounded incredible live too! Love her.
Eek.. he generally only listens to musical theatre?
I will definitely go see them in Toronto.. Though I’ve never been able to love anything they have done so much as Things We Lost In the Fire, and because that documentary of them was so so depressing and uninspiring (maybe that was just me?).. I still have such a soft spot for their haunting yet beautiful music.
mmm… I’d get Broadcast’s Tender Buttons
