Ahh, the old "don't attack someone for thinking for themselves" canard. When thinking for yourself means supporting a president whose policies tear children from the arms of their parents, many to never be returned, then fuck that--you *should* be attacked for that. Sometimes ideas are just so atrocious that no one else is thinking them for good reason.
I'm talking bigotry towards women, so basically just read almost anything the guy's ever said on the topic.
This guy is a stupid bigoted asshole and it reflects poorly on their character to pal around with him.
I'd love to see Ye raked over the coals for working with 69 (fuck the stupid-ass official way he spells it) as bad as Nicki has been, but I doubt it'll happen.
The fact that his shirt says "Everything will be ok" is heart-wrenching.
Likewise. I regret wasting my time to comment on this right now as well.
Also no doubt engages in continued learning by occasionally skimming psychology-related Wikipedia entries.
Hey hey now, she probably at least took psych 101 as a gen-ed re-req for her creative writing degree.
Both hosts of this event have impeccable credentials and will no doubt provide incredibly unique and incisive analysis on the topic.
Oh, is that why everyone is so nice in Minnesota?
"The world gave you a blessing, of a beautiful bundle of joy, and the only thing on your mind after you [gave birth] was to attack people and to stop their bags…" Classic Nicki, always with the best interests of the children in mind.
"Can you stop with all the subs? Bitch I ain't Jared!" "I get it poppin’ with these hands."--Cardi B
I wasn't trying to make a joke, I just really didn't get the premise of his joke about it being like some sign of "success" to have a terrorist attack at your concert. It just seems like such a terrible thing to say, and also has so little sense behind it.
If "terrorist attack at your concert" is a measure of success, it isn't a very good one.
LOONY LEFTIST, "Has-been Haslam" "wins" THIS round...
How about remember both? And of course remember Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, et al.
I love that Paul was excited to be on a song with Kendrick Lamar. I love everything about this, really.
She's doing pretty well for an alternative artist!
I still do--need some solo stuff, "Fukk Sleep" didn't quite give me the fix I need.
Yeah, this and his working with Cee-Lo are not good looks for K-Dot, whatever the kids these days think be damned.
Fair enough, and I'm obviously not as qualified as him to comment on the offensiveness of the n-word to a black person (including when other black people use the term), but he seems to be dismissing out-of-hand an awfully large part of black culture over the last ~40 years with this take. But if anyone is entitled to do so, I guess it's him and not myself or Keith Richards or whichever other crotchedy white person might want to do so.
Have you never listened to Herbie Hancock? "Headhunters" and "Thrust" are excellent, especially for people not terribly familiar with jazz (like myself).
The problem is he seems to be coming from a place of ignorance about rap music, reducing it to "[the n-word] this, bitch that, ho that." How much can he truly know about rap if that's all he takes away from it? It's like if a rapper parodied jazz music like Homer Simpson humming--how much critical thought should be afforded such an opinion? Don't you think Mr. Marsalis might have something more interesting to say about jazz and wouldn't his opinion hold more weight on the subject?
I did, regrettably. I didn't really make my point clear, which is that she doesn't exactly seem like the kind of person who would listen to any reasonable and well-meaning pleas to not do this type of thing. She knew exactly the sort of backlash it would generate and still did. Plus, she already is "not an apology, an explanation," complete with devil's horns emoji.

See that middle finger emoji at the end?

A keyboardist is a great addition as well. My favorites live were the Bury Me at Makeout Creek songs as well.
Did she add a second guitarist? Because both times I saw her, I really felt a second guitarist would have definitely improved her band's sound.
I'm guessing it's because some people see the allegations as an extension of the stereotype that black men are exceptionally lascivious and are thus wrongfully targeted by society and law enforcement. (A stereotype that has a long, awful history behind it.) Some people go too far in their attempts to defend black men they see as unfairly targeted and extend that defense to men who are clearly guilty.
It seems most of the people here love her music (myself included), but got tired of the excruciatingly long cycle of her detailing every step of her creative process before "Art Angels" and are wary of a repeat.
Not really a fan of "Lose Your Smile."
Can't I go out and LIVE ... and listen to Beach House?
The run of songs from "Dark Spring" to "Black Car" is absolutely brilliant.
You all mean the guy who wrote the following is a misogynist and a "narcissistic manipulator"? "The way you walk, that's me The way you talk, that's me The way you've got your hair up, did you forget that's me? And the voice in your speaker right now, that's me And the voice in your ear, that's me Can't you see that I made it? Yeah I made it First I made you who you are, then I made it" Yup, checks out.
Bey is on the kween list, right?
