None this year have superseded any of my favorite albums but so far Brian Eno & Karl Hyde’s Someday World (and less so High Life) has gotten the most plays.

Not many details out there but two interesting tidbits:

“…Hendrix’s estate has said that it won’t license songs unless it has some sort of say in the production. The producers don’t want that, so they didn’t even ask to license the music.”

and in the Rolling Stones articled referenced:

“…according to McKittrick, the film was always set in Hendrix’ pre-fame era, so neither he or his team ever approached the Hendrix estate.”

I thought I heard that the reason the music rights weren’t given is because they(the estate) felt the screenplay didn’t really fit with who Hendrix was. Not sure if this was just a rumor though.

Seriously, who the hell runs their PR dept?!

Who in their right mind is going to care if a electronic act’s music video has some drug references?! Have these people not seen the last 10 years of music videos?!

The whole album is laced with religious references.

If you knew anything about anarchists, this post would just have to be a joke. Did you even consider taking a quick Wikipedia perusal? Just to be sure you weren’t looking like an idiot on the internet? In the first comment of the article?

To save you some trouble, anarchists have a long history of hating prisons, the idea of imprisoning, the lack of any actual rehabilitation, and the fact that there are real incentives for governments to build more prisons and law enforcement to put more people in them.

And then there’s the Stanford prison experiment…I’ll let you look into this on your own. But be prepared to go to the doctor to get your jaw reattached.

Oh and your whole “they’re in there for a reason” argument, turns out a lot of time and research has been put into fields known as psychology and sociology to show that much of their “bad” decisions was time, place and a few too many fists to the face from pops (or worse for sexual criminals).

If you really want to troll, go on and troll. But if you really are interested in why anarchists do what they do, take the time to actually look into this stuff. There’s boatloads of material on prisons, the prison-industrial complex, capitalism, industrialism, criminal psychology, and much of it is not even written/created by anarchists! I’d argue that an anarchist is just someone who finally thinks its time that we actually give a fuck.

I disagree, this is good, playing with the pacing of the song and at moments it almost enters boom bap territory.
