"Life is completely unstructured and everything is so loosely tied together with no narrative cohesion or payoff on expectation means that you’re just kind of floating along and you genuinely have no idea what is going to happen next. This is part of the beauty of life and what makes it special, but it can also be terrifying." - fixed that for you.

The Odd Future thing is interesting. As homophobic as some of their lyrics/tweets are, they now have two openly gay members of their group, and have been very supportive of both of them. They've also said over and over again that they have no problem with people being gay, they just use the words. I'm not saying that it's right or ok to use words like they do, but I do think its an interesting situation.

I'm curious if there's a time when Todd Barry doesn't have that smug look on his face. Also, is Louis CK still part of the "alt" scene? He is probably the biggest comedian in America right now. both of them are awesome/very funny by the way. just observations on my part. not judgments.

i didn't know other people didn't like the 2nd season of Downton Abbey. It was not very good, and I don't even remember why anymore, outside of the fact that it spans like a 9 year period and nobody ages or changes their life drastically or moves or dies, except for somebody who went to war.

Much of the east side is great - Griffith Park, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Eagle Rock - city life with trees and personal space. Parts of downtown are really cool - little tokyo, k-town, olvera street etc. Even some of the west side is ok, too - santa monica and venice have great parts with lots of art, food, etc. el segundo, play del rey, and westchester are great if you like the beach but don't like the south bay and don't have a ton of money. LA has pockets of awesomeness. You just have to have a car to find them.

in New York, shady, evil people put on suits and ties, get on a train or a bus, and then sit around conference tables figuring out how to trick people into spending their money. this happens on wall street and on Madison avenue. in Los Angeles, shady, evil people put on crocs and ridiculous t-shirts, get a license to drive a bus, and then figure out how to trick people into spending their money.
