EXACTLY! I’m really confused why Aesop Rock has not gotten more love. Not marketed enough? I liked it better than El-P’s album. Also, I think Captain Murphy should go somewhere on this list just for being ambitious in a genre super adverse to change.

Should I mention that Sharon Van Etten’s straight?

A decent singer, but have we ever heard a song that he completely crafted without help? How involved in the artistic process of his music is he?

“seriously WTF now i have to delete all my LCD songs because i didn’t know he was a FAT FUCKING SELLOUT FOR SHOES”

“James Murphy is a fucking sell out who should never have had any acclaim in the first place. i smelled this on him long ago when you were all pretending he was sincere and artistic.”

So you “smelled this long ago” and you’re complaining about having to delete his stuff now? Shouldn’t you have deleted it back then? Contradictory…

Also, your grammar is lacking.

Not to say that James Blake is on a lyrical level of those you’ve mentioned, but I’d say his emergence is a sign of more songwriter-focused electronic music. We may see a future legendary lyricist twisting knobs sometime soon.

Rawr, angry voices. I think this is my favorite Stereogum end of year list, I get to find out what’s coming up without doing all the footwork. Keep up doing my work for me, guys.

Frightened Rabbit? They’ve been working on one, probably coming out this year, right?
