oh there's disputing that.
Totally agree. Cave and the Seeds was HANDS DOWN the best thing I saw this past year (in Louisville), and I saw A LOT of shows in 2014. I don't know how he did, or continues to do it, but this last tour he has put on the best shows of his entire career. Simply untouchable live.
anything edm heavy is likely to be terrible, not matter who is putting it out.
Yes but that is also the same area that is used for the press... so.
VIP sections are fine... as long as they are NOT in the front of the stage. I agree w Beth's statement. I've seen a bunch of festivals that did or do this practice and it stinks on every level. There were times at All Points West and Bunbury those sections would be 90% empty during the day, leaving huge gaps of nothing at the front of the crowd. Plus the majority of VIP types don't care enough to be up front anyway without the luxury of getting to do so without any effort. Coachella seems to do this right, even with all the stars and countless VIP/industry types. They keep the VIP section to the side (or side stage) and let the kids who made the effort to be up front, be up front.
No we can't... that's the lazy point of view that gave this "goddess of the passable pop country song" a career in the first place.
...by original talent you mean being a totally manufactured pop star? Listen I get it, she's somewhat cute, approachable and all but short of appearing on American Idol, her career is made by pleasing the lowest common music fan with the safest trite music around... Her "bold new directions" are only offensive in that they are never bold nor a new direction.

Right. I was referring to the stuff that fills the floors is the crap.
There was a time when EDM music was good... many many years ago. Like most things, once it goes mainstream to this level, there's barely anything left to salvage. The Douche scene is spot on... just add plastic surgery loving blondes to the mix, and there you have it. This is the college greek system played out after college, soundtracked by talentless, button-pushing morons.
happy mondays were never brit-pop
Haim, Ms Mr, Perfect Pussy and Chvrches are some of the most over-rated things to come out in music in a VERY long time... Their fine (except maybe for Haim and PP - who are just plain crap), but all of this has been done MANY TIMES before and more importantly, has been done waaaaay better. Short Term memory and short attention spans these days I guess.
My shop still has 10 copies of the Pixies (they had a ton to start with) They also have a couple of the Camera Obscura. The LCD, Cake, Ghostbusters, REM, Scott Pilgrim, Soundgarden and Garcia all went extremely quick. At least in the first 10-15 minutes. The DMB lasted all afternoon.
He did the mixing for the RSD box himself.
whatever is getting released will not be what was released for RSD - Murphy has said this in many interviews.
Once you turn the way of a flipper - bad record karma will haunt you. You have been warned.
Also sad that fickle youngsters forgot about them
How about the real problem of this song being a complete piece of garbage? Same for the Lily Allen song. Both of which only where able to generate silly discourse and not much more. Any music fan can see this is a weak effort, even for bland indie/pop music and still, people treat it like Thriller in it's importance.
I like this too.
and not to stop there, according to stereogum (TMZgum) "it is amazing"
If anything he sounds the opposite. He sounds funny as always, and his commentary on the Grammy and ID is warranted because his band was lumped in with them. Making a joke does not make you an old bastard.
having seen her live, yes, I agree with this. She's awful.
for the record - i think her stylists have good taste in clothes.
I like the restraint. Nice little tune.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug... or probably in this case, X can make you very emotional.
Saw Sky Ferreria once. ONCE. One of the worst shows I've ever seen. Granted the potential is kinda low on her to begin with, but the word over-rated barely begins to describe her. The music landscape is a little prettier (funny enough) when she stays silent.
A week? - ha - you my friend have a very short attention span. One that will never allow you to enjoy a record soon after the release date.
this LP would have not come out 15 years ago.
