Album of the year?

Why aren’t more people talking about how amazing this is

The greatest trick Deakin ever pulled was convincing the world he wasn’t Lil B

Okay NOW I can’t wait for Centipede Hz

Yeah, this album was pretty “meh” for me too

It’s kinda cool how the whole internet is listening to this at the same time, makes it feel like more of an event than most releases. And it’s really good, so that helps

Father, Son, Holy Ghost was my favorite album of last year. I hope Chris Owens goes on to still write and record amazing songs, but this is a huge disappointment, and also terrible that these great songs won’t be performed live by Chris and J.R. together.

I really thought Tallest Man or Hot Chip would win this week to be honest

I can’t wait two weeks for the whole album

+1Posted on Jun 5th, 2012 | re: Album Of The Week: Japandroids Celebration Rock (22 comments)

This post made me go listen to The Monitor again today, and it’s even better than I remembered it. One of the best albums of all time. Celebration Rock is super awesome too

 +13Posted on Jun 5th, 2012 | re: Grizzly Bear - "Sleeping Ute" (117 comments)

when i started reading i thought “today we are all grizzly bears” was the album title and thought that it sounded awesome. They should name it that

This article inspired me to listen to The Monitor again and it’s even better than we all remembered. God bless Titus Andronicus. Celebration Rock is amazing too

I would put Death Grips, Spiritualized, The Men, and Chromatics a lot higher but otherwise this is a solid list. Attack On Memory gets better the more i listen to it, Bloom is a masterpiece, and Celebration Rock and Heaven are fantastic too. I think R.A.P. Music was the best rap album of the year over Cancer For Cure and Rich Forever though. (and Put Your Back N 2 It should have been on the list as well)

I still thought R.A.P. Music was better

Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem had this to say

“So Tom’s gonna be Laura now… and in 2012 I still find people on the internet commenting on another persons life how they insult and condemn a person for his choices. How about the people who go through this and never find peace and end up committing suicide? Would you rather that? Or maybe he could become a raging drug addict and ruin his life and family? Would you rather that? Or maybe we could have rules from a dictator where everyone gets killed for anything they believe against the government, oh wait that doesn’t work… How about you leave the guy alone. How about you let another human being make a decision about their lives without your snide prejudices and bigotry? This is one of the hardest decisions a person can make. From my limited understanding of the subject, it means feeling your whole life like you were born in the wrong skin. That’s something that 99% of us can’t understand. Weither you agree or don’t, it’s not your life. It’s not your family. it’s not your band, it’s theirs. I don’t see the AM! guys very often, or if at all, but I always wish them well. They’re a great band. Leave it at that. Just let them be a great band. To those being kind, this is not for you… If this is joke though, it’s in very bad taste to the people who actually go through this. But I will say that I still feel this way about anyone who makes a decision against what we call normal. You can’t hate them, and they have the right, here in America, to make their own choices and live their lives free of prejudice. So go live, Tom. Okay that wasn’t funny. This is a really good thing for her though, and hopefully will be a precursor for many others to accept themselves and be comfortable with who they are. Laura Jane Grace will still be one of the best punk singers around whether male or female.

No mother ever dreams that her daugher (son)’s going to grow up to be gender confused

I’m surprised it took Pitchfork close to 18 hours to give it Best New Track. Seriously though it’s pretty awesome

That awkward moment where we pretend we haven’t heard this a hundred times already

I love how committed you are to plug Tyler the Creator at every possible opportunity. It’s quite impressive
