Not even an honorable mention for Róisín Murphy? Weak sauce.

Anyone else get a Kate Bush/Sensual World vibe from that cover art?

Wow I'm surprised that Susanne Sundfør didn't get so much as a mention in that very long list for Ten Love Songs. Kate Bush meets Goblin grandeur with contributions from M83 and Röyksopp.

Not a bad pick but this week, it's all about Mitski for me.

I can see where Grouper might have left you cold. I definitely preferred The Man Who Died in His Boat and Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill. Arca, on the other hand, only gets better which each listen. Those discordant sounds and lurches create a delicious tension. That would definitely be my AOTW, with the new Korallreven being a slightly distant second.

About what? I was perfectly aware of his ability to cover 30 year old songs. Sorry Tim. THAT was sarcasm.

That part was less at you than some of the more caustic comments higher up. Sorry I wasn't clear.

Ok I just have to ask. Does all of the sarcasm and defensiveness simply come from fear that you will be perceived as misogynists for liking his music? It is entirely possible to enjoy someone's music and also see why other people may take issue with his comments and overarching, ongoing issues they might indicate.

carcrashkiss, may I ask what constitutes non-delusional feminism to you? are there any outspoken feminists in the music industry or others that you do agree with?

I guess that means put me in the "Stereogum for covering these camp" by default.

Do we even have to call this a beef? This is simply someone making a comment on her twitter account in response to someone else's trollish at best remarks.

Note that I said probably, not definitely. Again, I'm not the authority. I'm just going based on things that she has written, much of which leaves Ariel Pink completely out of the equation.

Respectfully, I think assuming his remarks on Madonna were the sole reason for Grimes' tweets (and she was given ample ammunition before these) is just as much "creating context" as anything you're accusing people of above. I don't presume to know why she suddenly chose to speak up. I also don't presume to dictate what does or doesn't constitute "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women," because I have never been the victim of such a thing. Judging by your name and avatar pic, I think it's safe to say you haven't either. Knowing a textbook definition of a word (or simply looking it up which I'm betting is more often the case in debates like this) doesn't automatically give you the authority to tell someone who probably experiences it on a regular basis that she doesn't know what she's talking about.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that anyone rushing to say "This is not misogyny" is a man, and therefore not someone that has ever experienced it. Just a guess.

Agreed. The interplay amongst members is intricate and stunning. The songwriting is top notch. I actually think that's the record that's aged the best as well.

Just so everyone's clear: If you actually play in the league and get caught beating up your wife in an elevator (Ray Rice), it's a two game suspension. If you're simply performing at an event for the league and make a blink and you'll miss it obscene gesture, you owe a multi-million dollar settlement. Okay...
