I hate DMB more than the next guy but I don’t understand people raging about it being posted on here. There are plenty of bands I dislike that are written about, but I don’t take it personally. I clicked on this article, chuckled that DMB is still making music that some people care about and that was that. If you want a blog that is 100% in line with your own views then create your own. Or fuck yourself.

Also, if you want to gag, watch his movie “Pink Flamingos”. Every time someone sings “Surfin’ Bird” (Bird, bird, bird, bird is the word) in reference to Family Guy, I unfortunately instantly imagine a mans anus expanding and contracting.

Homosexual filmmakers need sex with random motorists too, you know. Discriminator

Auto-tune? I didn’t know that was the kind of pop they were going for. I will withhold judgement til I hear the whole record but damn, can’t help but be disappointed. I really liked Big Echo

LP leftovers generally suck in my opinion, but this and Broken Bell’s Meyrin Fields EP seem to be the exception

As a big Big Echo fan I’m curious/excited/scared to hear the new album and new sound. If they keep up the high quality of instrumentation they’ve had in the past then it should be a great record. While I was initially disappointed to hear of the name change from the perspective of someone who is a bit OCD when it comes to iPod organization, I completely understand the change and am cool with it. I am jealous of the people that got angry over the change, because they obviously have very few real things to be angry/upset about in their lives and instead have to take their aggression out on trivial things like band name changes.

There’s only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s record release dates and the Dutch.

I feel like I was just meatspin – ed. that’s 30 seconds that I will never get back..

Radiohead is the best at creating a balanced and badass setlist

Animal Collective is not a very good festival band in my opinion. I first saw them live at Pitchfork and was quite disappointed. I’ve seen them several times since and they have been great. I mostly wanted them at Lolla because of the likelyhood that they would play an aftershow

I agree, the lesser bands that I am usually most excited about are…lesser and not exciting.

Obligatory comment about who I believe should be attending: I was hoping for some Refused/Modest Mouse/Animal Collective action.

Didnt notice until i saw it written elsewhere, but that’s Bradford Cox playing the doo-hicky!

Jimmy Fallon’s approval is all I need.

But seriously, this performance sold me on them

You remind me of this woman i work with. I hate her with a passion

Quite the douchey response to a funny comment. Like the first two albums better so far, but I like this one a lot. Their first one was instant love, took about a year to appreciate Some Loud Thunder, now I like it better than the original. Think this one will grow like the last

Yeah it was a nice twist. AC probably isn’t the easiest band to cover originally and well

My opinion is better than yours!

I think it’s funny when people talk smack and trash lists and each other’s personal music tastes. My personal list would include Figurines – Figurines (though it did come out last year in it’s home country), Panda Bear – Tomboy, Antlers – Burst Apart, Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues, Battles Gloss Drop, Strokes – Angles, Tapes ‘n Tapes – Outside

Some good groundwork here.

I thought Tomboy was the opposite, the early live stuff didn’t sound too exciting to me but it ended up great on the album.

Sweet. Out of nowhere radiohead followed by out of nowhere figurines. not a bad week. sounds damn good. I’m excited!

Your comment does not make sense. You should kill yourself now

I’m a big Crystal Castles fan so I thoroughly enjoyed this but was also laughing, thinking of the random Kimmle fans catching this who had never heard of crystal castles. probably not an enjoyable experience for them

Tapes ‘n Tapes have one coming out in January I believe. They even gave away one of the songs for a free download a few weeks ago. Amazing that no one seems to care about them anymore. I still think they’re amazing!
