Find Me On:
i always considered scott 3 to be his best work. it contained the beginnings of the darker serious numbers that largely permeated the following record, interesting ambitious orchestration and a pleasing scattering of lighter tracks. also features his best brel covers, imo, especially his take on funeral tango. an all round classic, ornate and endlessly intriguing album.
i see merit in the recent albums but i find his voice too painful to really enjoy.
shit as the nme is, it’s interesting that he would attack the publication over something relatively minor like this, especially when you consider how all they’ve done the past decade is praise him regardless of how borderline average his output has been since white blood cells.
she should have got outtathaway !!
