"Nile Rodgers and Chic" played the Hopscotch festival last year and killed it. They were playing songs Rodgers wrote/produced, which included everything from Chic to Bowie to Madonna to Duran Duran (and of course Daft Punk). That dude is prolific.

Great shows - I was there for four damn hours and it was well worth it. Hope you guys do it again next year, preferably with 100% fewer hurricanes. Although the upside is that school was canceled, which is why my buddy and I brought our daughters. And now they're internet famous!

RE Funkadelic, the song "Maggot Brain" is basically a 10-minute (extremely awesome) guitar solo. For hard rock, the album MB includes this gem, which could easily be confused with Black Sabbath (until the singing starts) https://youtu.be/oVHrvx-Ua68

His memoir "It's So Easy" is a must-read for any Guns N' Roses fan. Great stories about the band, his recovery from addiction, and being on a flight with Kurt Cobain days before he killed himself.

Great interview. Copper Blue was a landmark album for me - I bought it because it was #1 on the CMJ charts, which were published in Rolling Stone at the time. Since then, I was lucky enough to be at that tribute show and got to meet him when he did a book reading/concert for See a Little Light. The guy is a legend.
