Awesome album that should get more attention. Probably my most anticipated BTS album because of the songs that were making their way into their live shows for the couple of years leading up to it. And the tour after it came out had to have been some of their best shows ever. Gone is easily in my top 5 BTS songs. If any of it seems angry or frustrated, remember this came out during the Bush war years and they made no bones about their feelings with the government (also see “They Got Away”) without getting too political. Doug never shies away from reality and is one of the most sincere songwriters alive.

Word. Who cares if it’s unpopular? Midnite Vultures is definitely my favorite Beck album. So underappreciated. It was a fuckin party and sorry to say but it’s been downhill ever since. Sea Change is a downer. Debra?!

Another slow day in music news, another “Worst to Best” list. Does anyone really need to see these albums ranked like this? Who cares? Stereogum is getting awfully close to pitchforkland these days.

Word. This reads like an apology for all the hype. Who exactly are these “indie-rock stalwarts embracing their love of Katy Perry songs”? And did Stereogum just compare these two to the Pixies? REALLY!? I think you’re trying too hard to like it.

Umm… no Stereogum, the Fiona Apple comparison is not apt. We get that you need to double down on your previous hype about Lana, because the alternative would be admitting you got a little ahead of yourselves. And the cop-out that you’re basically just putting it out there for people to decide isn’t flying. Fiona Apple plays an instrument. Fiona Apple writes her own songs. Fiona Apple is Fiona Apple’s real name. She isn’t a carefully crafted character created by a production team. You’re really starting to lose credibility here guys.

ok, as much as i agree she was created in a lab to destroy us all, she got me with “pabst blue ribbon on ice”

What this song needs is coke and lots of it. Really phoned it in.

The thing about her music is that you need to actually listen to it. Not everyone is going to “get” it. It is the most sincere and original album of the year, period. Speaking of Pitchfork, their headline for this performance was “Joanna Newsom Brings Funny Faces to Kimmel”. Seriously. Yeah, that’s what she brought. Anyone wondering when that site lost all credibility could start there.
