I liked the Warpaint album. It made my top 10 (which I won't link to for fear of being bitch-slapped for promoting my own music-critic career). What's funny about Warpaint, though, is how much some of their stuff sounds like a Vancouver band from the '90s called Perfume Tree. On a semi-related topic, sometimes someone writes (and sings) a song in the voice of the opposite sex because it wouldn't make sense otherwise. I am specifically thinking of Everclear's "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom", which isn't "good" good but is "guilty pleasure" good, and pretty ballsy (ha!) for Alex Alexaalexisakakisis or whatever his name is to presume he knows what life is like for washed-up female porn stars.

Bryan Ferry is no Liz Fraser. To some of us, TMC's version is definitive. I'm sure many Buckley fans would disagree, but whatevs. This is okay, though. Gilmour's sure getting a lot of work these days. Anyone hear that thing he did with the Orb yet? And Eno's new stuff sounds killer. Am I rambling?
