Find Me On:
FYF has really become a legit powerhouse festival.
This will be my 4th year going, and each year has been a steady improvement. They have slowly been moving a lot of jaded coachella goers away to just focusing on this MUCH cheaper (may I add- just as fun) LA alternative. Such a GREAT weekend every year…
Love this list without the obvious troll omission of “Nothing Ever Happened”.
My Top 10:
1. He Would Have Laughed – 2. Agoraphobia – 3. Nothing Ever Happened – 4. Fluorescent Grey – 5. Desire Lines – 6. Hazel St. – 7. Twilight At Carbon Lake – 8. Back To The Middle – 9. Helicopter – 10. Game Of Diamonds
Was anyone else hoping for a 45 minute “My Sharona” bonus track??
All I have to say about this week is… JAI PAUL NEEDS TO STOP FUCKING WITH OUR EMOTIONS
Hands down my fave performance from coachella. These guys closed out the whole festival and absolutely KILLED IT.
Haven’t heard a single bad track from them yet…I am beyond stoked for their debut.
“Do they even remember what house music sounds like?”
More than anyone, DP understands generic house music, but why would they want to put out another generic house album? If you are expecting RAM to be another Alive, you are going to be very disappointed.
Daft Punk as artists have moved far beyond any EDM shit, and I for one am THRILLED for it.
I don’t understand the point of creating this list when their new album is so close to coming out.
What’s going to happen after “Trouble Will Find Me” is out? The National’s Top 10 Songs (REVISED) ?
I have honestly had the RZA track on repeat for the past 2 hours. I think its a bold step in a new direction. His sound is perfect for hip hop.
Can’t believe pitchfork called it his first “failure”. What a joke.
Obsessed with this album and obsessed with KV. Its so refreshing to see/listen to a musician that consistently gets better with age. Hopefully this isn’t his stylistic peak… I doubt it.
CAN’T WAIT to see him at coachella this weekend. Hopefully he will have the huge crowd he deserves.
I completely agree Aenima is def their best work. I honestly really loved Lateralus though as well.
SPEAKING OF Lateralus…I just went to pitchfork to see what tool records have been reviewed and WOW. I understand Lateralus may not be their best work but getting rated a 1.9???!! Ridiculous. Say what you will, that is a fantastic album.
With how much money Goldenvoice spends on this festival, I don’t see them being ok with having Phoenix headlining on Saturday. I base this on absolutely zero evidence, but it would be a great business move to have Daft Punk announce their set weekend of (like they did in 2006) also considering how close they are with Phoenix (as they also joined them for their set at MSG in 2010).
I personally could care less if they show up. But weekend 1 will sell out anyways and it would leave a week scramble to get tickets for weekend 2 while also getting rid of all of the awful raver kids.
Very surprised “Heaven” from The Walkmen didn’t make it. That song still absolutely rules.
