Unbelievable…

It’s official: AC/DC could still beat the piss out of 90% of “rock bands” around these days.

I agree. People can say what they want about his music, or their taste in it, but as far as keeping a fan base entertained, there aren’t many comparisons these days. And by being one of the most taper-friendly artists (allowing it, changing setlists, jamming, etc.) out there, I think he’ll (they’ll) continue to be successful through any “CD-sale drought”. Plus, these new songs rock.

What’s worse: not knowing the difference between music engineering and programming, or not correctly referencing a website that one critiques?

What the hell was all that after the video? Fuck that noise.

No vinyl? Dang. David’s voice sounds incredible. How old is he? 23?

^^ Added a bass player, Dosh’s new stuff is sick. (From what I saw at Mile High). amrit – you should get us some good reviews of The Roots and Trey sets. I’ll promise to buy some neat Converses or an HP if you do.

Still at work, so unfortunately I can’t watch the video yet, but I would like to add: currentTV > the rest of TV.

These comments are making my brain hurt.

Damn…is that Tina Weymouth on bass? This is pretty cool stuff – thanks SG.

“generic reggae/sublime”…?
Actually, Brian, we can’t all agree on that.

Very good. Sounds like they’re going back to the rougher sounds of their first two albums, which is fantastic.

“It’s amazing to see someone that is thinking in a way that transcends our kind of politics–the greatest thing about America is that we can reinvent ourselves and become better than what we were before. I think that he really represents that.” – Yeah. Like continuing to fund the war, voting for the Patriot Act and not standing up against the unconstitutional FISA bill. Vote for change, sheeple.

Phish > 98% of bands discussed on this website. Are those bands good, sometimes great? Yep. But is Phish one of the greatest bands of the past few decades? Yep. Keep an open mind people. Give them a few listens and you’ll find a lot to love.

I would also put myself in the second group, Deductible. Any band that can somehow emulate the feeling/energy in “She’s So Heavy” (which I think the good doctor does) automatically gets some love from me. And taking cues from The Last Waltz? I don’t really mind that either, since I love that film and band so much I almost piss myself everytime I watch it. Congrats to Dr. Dog for being so heavily influenced by such legendary bands but not sound like a cheap rip-off. I wish some local bands in my corner of the world sounded like them…

Heads up: Nebraska is abbreviated NE.
Dr. Dog rules.

I saw Mr. Jennings at a theatre in St. Cloud, Minn., last fall, and it was a great experience. He has an incredible live voice, and the whole show had a tremendous feeling to it. This track sounds like a great song to kick off the summer at the lake.
