EXACTLY. It's becoming clear that Walt's hubris is going to be his downfall. He can't let anyone top him or take credit for his creation. I wonder if it's that Porsche-driving past -- back before he settled in the 'burbs as a schoolteacher with a pregnant wife -- that's calling to him again. If only he'd used his genius way back then....... Also telling: Hank compared him to Nick the Greek, another "genius" whose hubris left him broke. Layers, man. BB's got layers.

I made the mistake of reading the liner notes whilst downloading, and perhaps that's why I just wasn't feeling any of the songs once I listened to them. This knowledge that half of these artists had never really listened to The Strokes just ruined it for me. I don't believe you can effectively cover a song if you've never heard it before or if there's no emotional connection to it. I'm sure there are dozens of bands who owe their entire existence to The Strokes and to Is This It -- were they all just too busy to contribute? I admit I have no clue how the artists are chosen for these cover albums, and I imagine that a lot goes into the production of these things and for that I am grateful, but this one just missed the mark. It did make me dig out my old copy of Is This It, though, so I think it served it nostalgic purpose.

Oh, this is definitely a thing with fall weddings in the south -- plan around the team's schedule, or your groomsmen and guests will be distracted and standing there with earphones listening to the game during the service. We planned ours when Alabama was playing Vanderbilt (cause seriously, who cares about Vandy) but that didn't help. Throughout the ceremony, whispercheers would spread around the room anytime something happened... it really distracted from the "I do"s. BTW, RMFT.

Dude, this guy in an asshole. His daddy is an asshole, they come from a long line of political assholes. Scarily enough, his daddy Fob (I know, make your Alabama jokes, we are the worst) was actually elected governor of our grand state not too long ago. Every time we're mentioned in the news, I have to cringe because it will certainly be featuring only the worst and dumbest we have to offer. Tornados through the trailerparks? CHECK. Toothless meth-heads speaking whatever language they speak? CHECK CHECK. Corrupt politicians keeping us at the bottom of the list, across the board? TRIPLECHECK. Welcome to stereotypegum! And for proof of how ridiculously incompetent our elected officials are, read this Rolling Stone article about my hometown Stereotypes are based on fact, y'all!
