Plans and Narrow Stairs are better than you remember them being, especially Narrow Stairs (which I think has a great cover; it symbolizes all the different turns their music takes on the album and how the production is big and bright and beautiful).
“If you say Seth Cohen didn’t represent you then you weren’t represented by him.” -donnytilla, a genius (just kidding, I know what you mean).
The limbo Danny! was in between the Def Jux and OkayPlayer deals was pretty lengthy. He dropped a classic called Where Is Danny? during said limbo, which is sort of his version of Madvillainy. But Payback’s damn good too; check out “Speed” as well.
I guess you can’t count Unplugged because it’s a live album, but still, that album is so good.
I AM SO OUTRAGEOUS.
I love CyHi’s verse on “So Appalled,” but I guess that is the only thing I’ve heard from him, so maybe he is not always that good. Woo constructive comment.
To me, it’s not even a question that Brighten the Corners is better than Terror Twilight, and I’d even go so far as to say that Brighten the Corners is my favorite Pavement album (and “Type Slowly” is the best Pavement song, but I guess we can wait until the ‘top 10 Pavement songs’ post for that argument). But really, I think all their full-lengths save TT could be thought of as ‘the best’ depending on the day, which is one reason I love Pavement so much.
Fuckin’ finally. The songs on those new 7″ records are great, so I’m looking forward to this! Also, not to be that guy, but Pinback were on Touch and Go (which also had to shut down, sad) before they signed to Temporary Residence.
It’s good! Nobody’s paying attention because of Frankie O, I guess. Love Kimya Dawson on “Crows 1″
No kidding, great song to go along with all that action. Most fun I’ve had watching a music video in a long time.
