Everyone is obviously intitled to their own opinion. What we’ve just read is yours, and this is mine: The Suburbs did have a lot of hype for being an indie band/album and may have dissapointed some people, such as yourself, but to me (as cliche as it is…) actually mean’t something to me. Without focusing on the hype and press, it was a good album. You’re right, the lyrics of certain songs may have been a bit ‘blah’ but not every lyric was boring, for me atleast, and all of the lyrics obviously mean’t something to Win Butler/Arcade Fire or they wouldn’t have put them on the album. I mean, technically it is ‘their’ album they are sharing with us. I think we may have forgotten this is Arcade Fire’s ‘art’ and lyrics, and should be up for review… but a double take? And why would you compare this to Bruce Springteen?…Arcade Fire is nothing like Springsteen. That felt like you randomly compared two artists who obviuosly don’t sound, look or write their music in the same way. Arcade Fire brought something new to the music table and thats how it is. Its done anyway, why review again?
