I would think, and maybe I’m wrong, that the fans of the Silver Jews are smart enough to seperate him from whatever his father has done. I can understand why he would keep it secret, but at the same time, would anyone really find that information to hold them back from enjoying his music?

yeah, honestly, when i look at the list as a whole, nothing really seems that farfetched at all. and besides, its their opinions…which might possibly deviate a tiny bit from ours. If anything, it was a nice overview of 2008
I was truly expecting Deerhunter to take it. But I’m not surprised, still, by Fleet Foxes. Was anyone else completly surprised by Erykah Badu though?
I didn’t know Phantom Planet was breaking up, either. But all reports on the internet claim they are just going on a hiatus and not actually breaking up. Which is good, or at least slightly better.

Thats the problem with magazines like Rolling Stone. how do you compare Bob Dylan and TV on the Radio? What makes John Mellencamp comparable to Kaiser Chiefs? What the fuck is Kaiser Chiefs doing on a list at all?

Thats a noble thing to say, KAM, but I don’t think you’re saying anything that the leak-lovers haven’t already heard before. We all know that in the end, some of us will be buying the album in stores (you and me) and some of us…won’t.
Seriously, that s/t album is still one of my most favorite albums. Its hard to explain this to people as they tend to say “What? The ‘california’ band? Fuck that.”
I am just as excited about this album as I am the new MMJ.
