Are you dense? Silversun Pickups have the shoegaze sound that totally encompassed the Smashing Pumpkins earlier work. Denying that is just dumb.
You act like its a bad thing. Early 90′s Pumpkins is some of the best music ever recorded and I don’t think they mind being compared to it. In fact I am glad they sound like old Pumpkins, because SP used to be my favorite band and now that it is Billy Corgans shitty solo project, it is nice to still have new music that reminds me of that style.
As a huge fan of the Pumpkins since 1993, this is so depressing. He is taking the last shred of dignity the Pumpkins name has and flushing it down the toilet. What about young music fans…..you think they are going to bother taking a listen to the back catalog of masterpieces such as Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie after this shit?

I agree with the above comment about the opening track being iffy, but the rest of the album shining. This is what a follow-up to one of the best albums of the 00′s should be. It may not be groundbreaking, but it does the job of entertaining quite well.
I am sorry, but this song and the new album are quite horrible. Before this I loved both albums and their recent EP so much. Each had its own distinct sound and yet still breathed life into a tired Indy music scene.
The new album is full of shitty dance music that I am sure will get overplayed at the local gay bar.
God damn I am done with this “band.”
