Considering the difference between KOL at the peak i.e. the ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’/ ‘Youth and Young Manhood’-era and at the worst i.e. ‘Only by the Night’, this new song sounds refreshingly like something of a middleground alot like ‘Because of the Times’. However, the difference being that this sounds like a return to old form whereas ‘BotT’ foreshadowed the crap to come. Anyway, if this single is anything to go on it seems that perhaps KOL are finally leaving their adopted U2-stadium rock sound behind and picking up where ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’ and if it is let’s just pretend the last 3 years didn’t happen.
