I like how Kirk's not afraid to fail. It's inspiring to see him carry that message in every thing he does. Otherwise, he'd just be another sad person sitting at home who doesn't go on TV or interest group websites talking about stuff no one's listening to

Did Target allow its stores to choose not to sell birth control or did it allow its employees to choose not to use birth control in their lives? Because one is a solid grounds for a boycott and the other is a bizarre thing to even try to regulate. Your wording perplexes me, is what I'm trying to say.

That wasn't a great reference on their part. "Hey remember this character from one episode four and a half seasons ago?" No, no at all, Matt Weiner. And what was that supposed to show? That Don felt guilty? I thought we already learned that last episode when he let creepy Glen drive to show that he knew some people don't get to start over and that they should do what they really want to do now or whatever. Sometimes I think this show goes style over substance but ends up as style mistaken for substance.

Richmond is my fair hometown, and at first I was very up in arms like "we have so many cultural attractions beyond the two dogs in the parking lot!" and then I stopped and thought "no, wait, that's about right." Either way, I think it's the first time I've ever seen Richmond mentioned on a TV show

Yeah, so this is the first show that's made us feel in a decade? And apparently Friday Night Lights didn't happen? And also we're accepting the premise that New Girl made us feel?

April 30, 2012 on Mad Men: Joan Isn’t Just Like Everybody Else
This was just a strange and jarring day in the life of Sally Draper. She just wants to see what her dad does and all of a sudden the world was like "You are now a dolled up sex object. Get ready to spread your legs and fly. Roger Sterling is now interested in you. This is a blowjob." To be fair, that is pretty much what her dad does

April 26, 2012 on Will You Go See More Movies If You Can Live-Text Them?
I wholeheartedly agree about Community. I thought it was the best episode since their break (faint praise, maybe, but I still liked it a lot). The character oriented moments are what I've always felt were the weakness of the show, but I thought this one pulled it off for a whole episode. All the convoluted impersonations and feats of dreamatorium engineering boiled down to a simple and honest point

April 20, 2012 on Thursday Night TV Open Thread
I was perplexed by the one direction guy who left on his fake mustache and just stood there like a statue giving the audience the thumbs up for like 30 seconds while everyone else was hugging each other. That's not particularly funny or good television, it's just strange, and for a bunch of people who don't know who he is, not particularly endearing. Jason Sudeikis should have taken him aside aside and been like "Go stand in the back and hug Jay Pharaoh until the credits are over"

I liked how the other Derrick Comedy guys joined in the pillow fight. Have they been on Community before? I feel like they have, but whatever, I like seeing them where they belong in comedies instead of 1960s ad firms
