Find Me On:
Love her. Thanks for this.
That terrible Avatar song (“My Heart Will Go On Even Longer”) is probably going to win.
I agree with this, and started watching the show for the same reason. I think that True Blood is charming. You just have to realize what tone they are going for, meaning: sexy, funny, campy, melodramatic. It knows it’s campy, and it is having fun with it. The second season was also way better than the first. The last few episodes went totally crazy and hilarious. I was cracking up about “Bullshit! God has horns!” for days.
I love all three with my whole heart. I think Dragonslayer is exciting and catchy and wonderful, so, personal taste is crazy!
I have to say, I’m a little stumped by Girls, Phoenix, and The xx being so high on the list. Dragonslayer probably deserved to be somewhere in the top five. It’s excellent. Hmm… Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle was really great too. I’m also a little surprised that Swan Lake isn’t on here. All well, you can’t expect any end of the year list to be tailored to your taste.
The lack of Sunset Rubdown disturbs me. And seriously, that MGMT album is one of the best of the decade? You crazy for this one, Stereogum.
Aziz Ansari has great taste in television. Also, Ted Leo’s mention of Battlestar Galactica made me smile. Good man.
Oh and I want to give Owen Pallett a hug for mentioning the Luyas. I fucking love them.
Boo to no Breaking Bad. But Mad Men is still amazing.
Johnny Flynn’s second album! Hopefully coming out early 2010.
Aw, he didn’t do the extended version. Either way, very funny.
If you’re going to rip something off, at least make it a good rip off. This is just terrible.
I agree, I loved the fuck out of Middle Cyclone. That and Sunset Rubdown’s Dragonslayer were probably my most played for the year.
Exactly. Every album she releases is pure perfection.
