Find Me On:
props on highlighting this incredible artist…but the above picture is of Kurtis Blow and Run D.M.C.
man is he insufferable lately. remember the guy who was in “The Fearless Freaks”? i miss him.
i change my mind… i went to an actual store and picked up the only cd i found which was a promo copy for a few bucks (they were sold out of the official record!). I’ve been listening to it for a couple days now and I now think it’s a great album. It’s not a “safe millennial indie album”, however.
For fans of Zappa, Beefheart, Ween, Early Cure, Early Beck and Bowie (yeah i said it). Challenging artist for challenging times.
7 desert island albums 2009-2014 (so far)
Mac DeMarco | Salad Days
Frank Ocean | Channel Orange
Kendrick Lamar | Good Kid Maad City
Kurt Vile | Smoke Ring For My Halo
Destroyer | Kaput
Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti | Before Today
Phoenix | Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
what a weird mix- almost no guitars!
i’m disappointed. there’s a great album in here- it needs to edited down to the perfect 10 songs that are in the mix.
he’s not wrong about Dave Stewart. The Linda Perry comparison is spot on!
staring at the sun > the rest of their discography
so far album of the year – FTW!
it’s an unfair comparison. Yeezus was highly personal and ultimately more experimental.
RTJ2 is an incredible feat and really ready for mass consumption.
