How many viewers, of any sort of internet content these days, make the distinction between “journalist to be taken seriously” and “Internet personality whose opinions I ought not to absorb?” You think most people do this?
Sorry dude but you keep saying this, and it’s something that’s really not obvious to a lot of people. I’ve known lots of relatively smart people who hang on his every word.
Come on those are just shrooms lol. Shrooms just look like dicks is all.
This dude is like Beck done better. I love his playful style. Glad he’s back.
When I was young I went to Warped Tour and saw most of these bands for about forty bucks.
Really weird take. It’s really *really* easy to think of pop artists who don’t really write their material. Swift is pretty famous for it on the other hand.
Wow, tons of exciting stuff this month! Of course I’m ridiculously excited for new Immanuel Wilkins. Dude is a preacher with his instrument, so this album’s direction is perfect. The Chicago Experiment also has me pretty breathless.
Who’s the highest-up actual jazz musician on this poster? Terence Blanchard?
Count me in this boat as well. Shields is unbelievable, it was the first “new album” I bought on vinyl. I would also put Yellow House above Veck….
Another crazy thing about 21 Savage in “Surround Sound” is that he doesn’t drop a single ad-lib!
This is wild to me but to each their own! To my ears 7 is the style over substance and this one is the return to the heart and soul.
Thursday? Bayside? Armor for Sleep? Holy fuck 2003 me is so happy right now.
Having lived in two little green houses, which I dubbed LGH 1.0 and 2.0, I feel it’s my duty to check this out.
After seeing and loving The Eyes of Tammy Faye, I’m convinced all biopics need to have some sort of wacky style or lightly satirical angle. Shakes up the genre. This is truly excellent news and i am excite
I revisited DiCaprio 2 recently and it’s easily one of the best rap records of the last five or six years.
This may be the hook that gets me into this band. Anyone else think this tune sounds like R.E.M.?
I can get behind this. She friggin' sparkled in West Side Story, probably the best performer in the whole show.
Came here to say this. And turns out it was just a one off!
Oh damn, got schooled! This is really cool context and helps me understand your earlier comment.
With Encanto on the rise, I'm hoping it goes to "Dos Oruguitas." That tune makes me cry, especially as it soundtracks its particular scene in the movie.
Agreed on the Zimmer score, it's not very fresh. However, having just read Dune for the first time this year, I don't know what you're on about regarding how the "Dune aesthetic" is "supposed to be." Maybe you just prefer the weird, trippy, flamboyance of the Lynch version? Because while Dune is aesthetically distinct, I found nothing in the book that suggested it should be any more wacky than what Villeneuve gave us.
The film list makes me think this for sure. Some of those movies have only been shown at film festivals as far as I know. You'd have to be pretty dialed in to the film world to have seen all of those.
I’m waiting for my excitement about these guys to stop increasing, but it’s not. This is the coolest fucking thing.
What’s up with this hillbilly chic fashion thing going on right now? I’ve seen way more mullets around lately. What are the kids doing?
This is the answer I was looking for. I love "Bunny Is a Rider" as P4K's pick because of the moment on my like seventh listen where I realized all of a sudden "wait I love this song???" after thinking it was just okay the previous six.
I take most of what he said at face value, but the fixation on Instagram is odd.
Jeff Tweedy’s memoir, it was so so good.
The globe is warming, it’s four months now plus smoke season
Perfume Genius makes me forgive Twitter for existing.

I'm so excited for this movie. Sean Baker has this remarkable ability to humanize the poor and scummy of the world, and this movie looks no different. That it's Simon Rex is hilarious and makes me even more curious/excited.

My caveman brain still LOVES “Blurry.”
This movie looks awesome with just a hint of insufferable.
