At the exact moment of the last chorus of Love Story, Robert Pattinson flies down with bat wings from the rafters, going all sparkly under the spotlights and takes over, belting “MARRY ME JULIET WE’LL NEVER HAVE TO BE ALONE, I LOVE YOU AND THAT’S ALL I REALLY KNOW”. After “I talked to your dad and we’ll pick out a white dress”, Taylor Swift, pulls the exact same manoeuvre as she does at 3:21 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Str59XDQp6U – but revealing a wedding dress underneath. Madonna emerges as the priest, and marries them in the single greatest combination of teenage girl fixations in history.
Surprised but pleased to see at least ONE major indie blog covering Tori…
and to be honest I don’t love this song; it IS a little too MOR for me, but I’d love to hear more reintroduction of the electronics like at the start.
Which, being a horrible album, doesn’t bode well for Green Day…
I cannot believe how much I hate this guy… Catch My Disease just had to be both one of the most irritating earworms of the decade AND completely and utterly ubiquitous in Australia for an entire year.
The more attractive I find Katie White, the worse their music becomes…
That’s a great cover… the instrumentation really makes it their own, though yeah, the cameraman’s backing vocals leave a lot to be desired.
Piano orchestra… intriguing. Must take notes.
The Katy Perry one actually gives her some artistic merit. Wow.
I’ve always wondered how these guys get the isolated instrument/vocal tracks though, otherwise I’d have a go myself.
Hey, Elvis Costello sounds better live than on the album! Great performance.
Funny how Sweet Child ‘O Mine is only at number 63.
Well, at least the song Black Sabbath is getting the recognition it deserves.
Ah, that was awesome. So was Keep Fishin’ with the Muppets, sadly the only other Weezer video I’ve seen…
Oh man, that Werewolph song is actually really fucking metal.
Looking forward to this… though I don’t really have the money. I admit I’m not a huge fan of comics, but what I’ve read of Sandman is brilliant – and with that and Tori’s music as inspiration I’m sure this is going to be great.
Mental note: don’t link websites to blog posts about them in the future.
I appreciate the whole “giving away free tribute albums” thing, though. I’ll try not to be discouraged by this one.
I really wanted to like this… I settled for reviewing it, in case anyone’s interested: http://www.last.fm/user/Richaod/journal/2008/04/2/690230/

Love this idea… and I did like Show No Mercy, but the sheer length combined with Pitchfork’s formatting did make it borderline unreadable for me.
