Good lord, people. Relax. 8 bands out of about 100 have been announced. And the only reason they let Flaming Lips & Phoneix out this early is 'cause they've already been leaked.

I actually think the top 10 songs are pretty dead on. I wouldn't choose them (read: u2) for my personal favorites, and I think Jay-z put out many better songs than 99 problems. But this list isn't for me now, is it.
Really, it reads like a top ten most popular/relevant songs of the 00's. And can't an argument (AN argument, not the final argument) be made that that's, especially for a publication like Rolling Stone, what makes them the best?

Just moved to Louisville and they're playing a costume-themed halloween show here. I can't afford it (no job yet) but tickets are still available.... if they can't sell out a special show in jim's (yim's?) hometown... they need to seriously rethink prices
I actually watched the whole video.. eclipse was certainly the most underwhelming part. However, He explains that "someone he can't quite yet reveal" (paraphrasing) asked them to cover an album of their choice and they chose Dark Side... and asked Rollins and Peaches to collaborate. It's all in good fun.., fun for the band and fun for the fans. Nothing more.

best part : the awesomely off-key guy in the audience trying to sing along to hunger strike. specifically around :38. oh, and 1:30. the whole time really. ouch.
