I post a photo. Maybe that speaks for itself about my comments? I have read this entire blog. I appreciate all the many opinions. I am amazed at all of the comments & they have made me think about what I want to express.

Adam Durtiz puts his mental health challenges out for …whatever reasons? I can’t think of anything positive about that for his life? People have more reasons to discredit everything he says and thinks. They find reasons to dislike him. “He’s just not like me”.

Who puts a mental illness out for scrutiny by society? The discrimination for this is incredible enough that there is the American Disability Act. Society looks down on anyone with a mental health problem.

How many people take medications for “their nerves”, sleep or just to “help them wind down”. If you call it what it is. It’s depression. It’s anxiety. It’s insomnia. It’s Bi-polar I. It’s Bi-polar II —functioning adults. Some people are thriving and making the most of what they have. These disorders can be debilitating. Most all of mental health medications have a side effect of weight gain. Some of them have a higher incidence of this side effect.

If you look at history actually 30-50% of inventors, writers, artists throughout history have had what society would consider “different behavior”. After listening to all the posts I will make a few statements.

I admire the honesty of Adam Duritz. about his mental illness struggles. That takes tremendous courage. I admire his ability to put his entire heart and honesty into his music. Then he chooses to share that. He shares that for criticism by anyone who listens to his music. That takes so much courage.

I admire his ability to translate his thoughts and feelings into music that touches so many people.
Every concert I have seen he puts his heart and physical being into every song he sings as if he is translating his feelings of that song to that audience…….different, yet powerful……and probably tempered to the audience he is speaking to.

I give a “rat’s ass” about his dreadlocks.
