love justin's shout out to the non-nominees
glen campbell is killing it!
the grammy's sure do love their tributes.
all right! finally the performance that the grammy's have told me that i've been waiting for.
lots of credible musicians play six string banjos.
i really think that it is the best performance yet.
yes!! we have dinner on tuesdays.
i didn't realize johnny depp was such a good singer
nope. now you get willie doing coldplay!
thanks chipotle!
i can't believe how many awards they give away off air.....oh wait, yes i can.
on chris martin's piano?
not to mention rihanna sounding terrible every time she's on tv.
that target commercial with the parquor was better than any super bowl commercial i saw.
what's up with the mini skateboard? love weezy for being himself!
that was obviously meant to garner a spot on shut up dude.
from the video i was thinking the chorus sounds very Gaye influenced(no pun intended...surprisingly) but i see the Rundgren comparison. And i agree that Kevin looks so unlike himself here.
i'm really surprised that no one has commented on the fact that he is naming his first album after the music and film festival in the first season of portlandia...
damn that MIA video is good! good job showing everyone that's copping her style how it's done.
that's because madonna is swimming in her own ego. which is also why everyone "shuts up for a second". AND ALSO why she pitches a baby for a "touchdown", which wasn't nearly as funny as she thought it was.
i don't really understand how someone can sound less like themself because their sound is different than what they sounded like ten years ago. brothers didn't sound like rubber factory and danger mouse only produced a couple tracks. not to mention that their "new sound" has a lot of passion to it. it just may not be YOUR passion.
i don't think it's a weird video. if you understood how it feels to be with a giant caprisun pouch then you wouldn't think it was weird either.
I mean I'd be pretty content to sound like eighties paul simon. the composition of that sound and it's intricacies is mind blowing...still.
can we talk about the ape hands manning the camera?
i know vampire weekend gets compared to Paul Simon a lot so this shouldn't be a surprise, but those drums sound a lot like "rhythm of the saints".
i spent a good portion of my life defending Pearl Jam, but that song is terrible. Jimmy fallon should start writing their songs. and to mr. slippers; Oasis didn't invent that riff either.
why are his hands in the shadows? guy is one of the kings of neo-travis picking, and i can't see his hands! this video would be 5 times better if we could watch him blow our minds instead of just hearing him blow our minds.
that is one of the coolest exhibits i've seen at any museum ever. i could not imagine how awesome it would be to see St. Vincent there. i would like to say though that i don't think her sound is getting heavier so much as returning to her pre-marry me sound. one of the things i liked about her when i first saw her (opening for John Vanderslice) was that she had an obvious big black influence. And that was before she had a band!
the song IS catchy, and if he wasn't egotistical and pretentious then he wouldn't be doing his best Morressey impression. but to the more important question...why the hell is he wearing a black trench-coat? Is it not summer where they live? i mean, we've had triple digits here since may, and no matter how fashionable i'm trying to be i would never put myself through that much pain. i'd rather slit my....OH! i get it.
thanks jeff for keeping the neckbeard dream alive!
