One of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Non-stop energy and emotion from start to finish. Wonderful.

Anyone go to that crazy-fun Cut Copy set? Wow…it was out of control! Grizzly Bear and The xx both played great sets Saturday afternoon. Surprise show of the weekend for me though was Wild Beasts. I loved their set. They sounded beautiful live and had a great energy on stage.
*their*
I think people just get burnt out on there simplistic pop-rock songs being hammered over and over on radio stations…for what it’s worth.
Wavves was good…they loosened up a lot near the end of their set and that helped a lot.
Agreed, Cymbals were great Friday. Nice to see they had a good-sized crowd at that smaller stage too.
Dirty Projectors’ set was absolutely fantastic. Amber Coffman’s voice live is unbelievably better than in studio. They blew me away.
Hot Chip disappointed me a bit, but I didn’t have a great spot for their set though.
Chromeo was a lot of fun and his new stuff sounded great live.
Ideally…
Radiohead
Outkast (new album in 2011? possibility)
Daft Punk (unrealistic)
Beyonce
Animal Collective (probably not)
Radiohead and Outkast are realistic and would be awesome.
than your sex? hehe…sorry.
the only good thing about this list that makes it stand out compared to any other list is that jj no.3 finally gets some well-deserved love. the rest is lacking and sub-par at best.
and a bottle of wine.
No Grizzly Bear? Wow. Oh and if you’re wondering the validity of Paste, consider that their 2008 choice for album of the year was She & Him and it is not found anywhere on this list. Whoops, eh Paste?
Chris Taylor is amazingly talented. Not only does he produce and record all these albums and tracks, he plays all sorts of instruments and has a fantastic voice! I have been really anticipating this release for some time now. It is exactly what I expected from him, except even better! I would love to hear more from him. I agree with the comment above, I like his voice a lot and would love to hear it utilized and featured more in whatever Grizzly Bear does next.
No love for Strawberry Jam, P4K? That album has some of AnCo’s best ‘jams’ on it: “Fireworks” and “Peacebone” are amazing.
dark horse to be one of 2009′s best albums.
Same thing happened to Grizzly Bear earlier this summer on his show. Letterman’s kind of a deusche about that stuff.
He obviously looks very nervous as to be expected on your tv debut. I can appreciate the few changes they made to spice up this live version though, sounds good. I am kind of surprised they decided to play “The Reeling”, I figured they would play “Sleepyhead”. I wish they would have played “Little Secrets.”
I feel like Passion Pit would be a lot of fun to see in person, I feel like they would get the crowd really bumpin. Looking forward to seeing them at Lolla.
i like animal collective a lot….this video is terrible. the end.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear has produced some Dirty Projectors’ work in the past. Did he produce Bitte Orca as well? If so, that is very impressive especially considering the fact Veckatimest just came out and he produces all of Grizzly Bear’s work…
These guys suck. Never even heard of them…though I will say, this is a way to get your name out there, ripping on bands way better than yours….not necessarily the way I would have chosen…
with veckatimest creating all this stir and being so damn good, do you guys think grizzly bear will ever get any mainstream recognition, such as grammy nominations? not that i care or really want them to…i’m just curious as to what people think..

This album is fantastic. Honestly, it’s my favorite of 2011 so far. Noah sings with such passion in his music. It definitely stands out to me especially in this album more so than his previous work. I thought it was going to be really good, but not nearly as great as it is!
If I have one beef it’s that “Atiba Song” was left off, though I’m not sure how well it would blend into this particular album. I just really would love to hear a studio version of that track. Wonderful stuff.
