Fantastic song. I wonder if Dave Longstreth did the ‘mathy’ guitar parts (they’re bros, aren’t they?), it sounds very Dirty Projectoryyy. To be honest I could never really get into St Vincent before, but I am excited to hear the rest of this album, great tune.

About that James Blake comment, what I meant to say was: The REAL king of Indie has returned.

I would like to applaud Stereogum for the comment party AND the Double Takes. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with re-evaluating an album, or ya know…having an opinion. That said, I think the new Panda Bear album is amazing! I would have preferred less singles upfront so there was more completely new content, but a top 10 end of year record for sure, if not the top spot. I say: James Blake who? Benfica <3

Just heard the NPR stream of the album and it does appear to be lower in the mix! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I LOVE Panda Bear, but are they serious with that pitch-shifting backup vocal??? Was that Sonic Boom’s doing? Shit is fucking annoying and ruins what was potentially an amazing song :(

i never quite understood the backlash on these guys. I felt this record as whole was much better than their first. So what if they didn’t want to make electro-pop? If you listen to mid to late 60’s era Kinks you hear their influence, and that’s not a bad style to go for. maybe i’m just too old.

AIH Bandmember: “Hey guys, I got an idea, let’s abandon all our various instruments that made our album “In Case we Die” so great (and get Best New Music on P4K) and just do straight electro-pop. That worked for Islands too, right? right?”

Way to go Stereogum for not actually doing a rating list, grow some balls.

That’s like making a Christmas list and not putting the pony at the top. NO. THE PONY is always #1. I know your trying to not offend anyone, but if you really want readers commenting again on your new “you must sign in to like/dislike” Blog that is constantly being engulfed in a giant advertisement for Gap, or Coca-cola, or I dunno, COLGATE TOOTHPASTE, than maybe you should stir up a little controversy. Like, ya know, giving one of these bands that #1 spot. You owe it to us Stereogum, and you owe it to yourself.

In other news, NOTHING BUT LUVVV!

I would like it much less if not for the flute solo.
