Who am I kidding? I’d love to see this.
But the Jicks live sets got much better as both the material improved and they got Janet in the lineup. There’s nothing Janet doesn’t immediately make more kickass. If this is bupkis and all we get is more Jicks, I’m perfectly happy with that. Add Nastanovich to the Jicks lineup, while we’re at it.
I love how they just put the artist’s names for every category, no matter how little they had to do with the choreography or directing. Can’t those guys get just a little credit?
Their Portland show was great (and the Crystal was as packed as I’d ever seen it). It was nice to hear Jason bring out a few old Grandaddy favorites done in a more stripped-down synth-less style, especially “Levitz”. My only complaint is that Neko is a little too perfect. I was finally able to nab “Middle Cyclone” on vinyl at the show, though.
I don’t really care about the rest of the stuff in that set– no Blu-Ray player, no 5.1 setup, and I rarely watch concert DVDs– but hell, how much for just the vinyl releases?
Well, I think we can at least all agree that the best album of 2009 is not the new Chris Cornell record.
Nice Jane’s reference, there. I wonder what NIN love songs will sound like…
Also, here’s hoping that this is a harbinger of Twitter’s demise. All the “@hesaid, @shesaid” talk on that Fred dude’s blog is way too distracting; it’s like lingo as a substitute for content.
I’ll give it a shot, thanks!
“Perfect From Now On” sounded so angry and bitter– maybe from having to re-record the whole thing twice– that it turned me off of BtS. I still listen to the early stuff, but now I realize that it’s been 12 years since then and I should probably give their newer stuff another shot. Suggestions on which album to start in with?
…featuring Billy Corgan.
I fucking love these guys. So good live, too. My favorite tracks on Wild Mountain Nation were the harder rocking songs, I can’t wait to hear what’s next.
The drums (and obviously the singing) translate very well into the actual skills (but piss off the neighbors slightly less than a real kit). The guitar skills, not as much, but it definitely increases the manual dexterity and speed that you need to play guitar.
I’m super excited for this game, though. And rather a nation of gamers who are at least playing fake instruments. It’s a skill that translates into *something* unlike, say, Donkey Kong or Madden.
It’s a cool app for fans, so I hope that they can get all of this b.s. straightened out.
Heh. Potland.
Snagged the Blitzen Trapper and Jenny Lewis/Elvis Costello singles along with the new YYYs. Good stuff.
I’m not overly fond of the Crystal, but I am so going to that show.
The Glass House is the thing I miss the most about living in Pomona. The city sucks otherwise, but they get some great shows.
Anyone alive or dead? I’d probably say George Harrison.
Alive only? Neil Fallon. He seems like a guy with a lot of interesting thoughts in his head. Plus, then perhaps I could learn the secrets behind growing an awesome beard.
John Cage > Fleet Foxes
…but John Cale > John Cage.
Rage away!
“We limit the amount you can buy, we print your name on the tickets and we have our own person let you in a separate entrance where we check your ID to match the ticket.”
Plus, the tickets look really sweet (at least, they did on the Light In The Sky tour).
A Beatles-esque tune with a title taken from a Pink Floyd song… Well, I guess no one’s ever accused them of being too subtle.
Is this coming out on vinyl stateside, or is the UK import listed on Amazon the only way?
In which case she’s already in a video game, via “Electric Version”‘s inclusion in Rock Band. Definitely picking this track up tonight.
Yay, I ripped off a site I’ve never heard of!
I see she went to the KANYE WEST SCHOOL FOR TYPING INSTRUCTION!!!
