I feel like "See You in the Next One" should be on this list.
At least the Verve got the last laugh with their mega-hit "the Freshman."
Lush was such a great band.
PJ Harvey opened for them on this tour, believe it or not.
Don't you guys see? Winwood was all of us!
What, no Monsters' Ball?
Thank you Videogum. This has all been very fun. I will miss you.
What do you guys think Gabe is doing today?
Does that mean we're also rich?????
If nothing else, at least Kelly got to have one perfect day on SpinMedia's dime.
I just read huckabeast's quote fromt he original post and it made me sad: huckabeast | Posted on Sep 1st, 2011 I feel like I do this every time there’s a YCMIU, but I’m doing it again: these are my favorite Videogum features and I hope they go forever until the world crumbles into dust.
I can't sign up for wordpress with my current username. Who should I be post-Videogum???!?
I might miss these posts most of all.
Want to feel old? Those babies are all in college now.
It's a PhD program for Japanese Literature.
This still keeps me up at night.
Thanks! I don't know where I'm going yet, as I stil have some schools to hear back from, but I was accepted to Berkeley, which is one of my top choices, so I may well be back in the Bay Area soon!
Maybe Kelly will open a real Petting Zoo now and we can all go visit and hang out with cute animals and each other.
I have loved the Petting Zoo so much. I used to refrain from watching the videos during the day so that I could watch them at home with my wife. Thank you Kelly!
So did Survivor ever pick Lindsay?
Long Live More Sand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, all this time I thought we were talking about Cameron Diaz!
Honest question: am I the only person who liked the ending of LOST?
Waiting for Wolfman
It's fun to read this now knowing how later on Gabe came to truly love True Blood and Walking Dead.
"This thread is so old it's like me in relation to the young women I date!" -Marc Maron
The golden age, indeed.
Wow, Gabe was so young and positive and idealistic back in 2008!
I think now is the right time for this: http://i29.tinypic.com/72srd0.jpg
Terrible typos. Sorry everyone. I'm sad.
I was started Stereogum around 2008 when some bands I used to play with were mentioned on it. I moved to NM and had a terrible, terrible sales job at first, where I really needed internet distraction. I went from Stereo to Video, lurked for a while, and then started commenting, and have continued to do so for at least 3 years now (maybe 4? maybe 5?). It's been something of a constant for me during my time here in NM. I just found out over the weekend that I've been accepted to a PhD program and will need to move in a few months. Videogum ending right after I found that out feels spooky but also feels like this: http://24.media.tumblr.com/026511d4b000c5a46e4d3fb73b2bee5d/tumblr_mox5kkZO1V1so358xo2_500.gif
I bet Steve Winwood doesn't even give a care.
Who can I retweet or what can I hashtag to keep this from happening?
I am very sad to hear this.
Where's Kelly, you guys? Did she need some alone-time too?
She's going to have a hard time meeting European men if she thinks that's what football is.
