its impossible that they would be impersonators, first off because Laurent Brancowitz the guitarist of Phoenix was in a band called Darlin’ with those guys prior to daft punk, it was actually from that band that someone had commented on them as sounding like a bunch of “daft punk”, so the crazy thing for me is seeing that there was evidently no rift between the guitarist and the daft guys. and another thing which has’nt gotten mentioned is that they introduced daft punk on stage with an homage to the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the part where they communicate to the mothership with music. I didnt have the best seats but ill tell you it was one unbelievable show, especially when daft punk came out, I nearly lost my shit
