Totally…
Whoop–de–do
Why does everything have to be compared to either the Smiths, Cure or Joy Division? If anything, I’m hearing tons of early 80′s Sonic Youth and related LES bands of the time in there. Solid record.
Sounds like the strokes
Album of the year! Who cares about anything else after hearing this.
When first streaming the record on their website I’ll admit I was turned off for the most part. After listening a few times it has grown on me, some of my favorite albums came into my world that way. Machu Picchu, Gratisfaction and Life is Simple in the Moonlight are all fantastic tunes. And while we all love Is This It and ROF we’d be writing them off just the same if they gave us a third album like that. I think musically they’ve gotten way more interesting and Julian’s vox sound the best to date. Had no idea he could find some of the places he’s going. There’s a couple stinkers in tracks like You’re So Right and Games but the rest of the album is pretty good once you give it a chance. I personally like all the harmonies and little instrumental flourishes and the production sounds good. Anyway, that’s my take.
Saw Mike Dosantos play with The Homosexuals a few times. Killer bass player!
This show was absolutely incredible! Kudos for posting this.
Looking forward to hearing their latest effort. Awesome.

“The Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack has music from Patti Labelle, Pointer Sisters, The System, Shalamar”
That just clarified the point of how bad a soundtrack it must be. What’s with all the love for corny 80′s elevator music? All around bad taste.
