What on earth is in that woman’s hair? It is clearly stopping her from thinking and acting normally.
Grizzly Bear is truly a great band. They are a very talented group of young men, in every sense of the phrase. They deserve all the success they have gotten, and will continue to get.
Fleet Foxes > Crystal Castles,
of Montreal > Andrew Bird,
Dan Deacon > Gang Gang Dance,
Deerhunter > Snoop Dogg > Lou Reed
The only one I’m on the fence about is TVOTR or Lykke Li
Dan Rossen, marry me.
Animal Collective > Animal Collective’s Videos
Alright fine. I’ll do it:
Sonic Youth < Radiohead
I’ll leave it to Pitchfork and you, Stereogum to decide whether it is better than Merriweather and Veckatimest. I’m not smart enough to decide such an important matter for the rest of the music community.
Alls I kno’ is me likes Bitte Orca, Merriweather, and Veckatimest (and Bromst, Wolfgang Amedus Phoenix, & Two Suns too.)
No auto-tune you say?
Rap Song of the Year.
I’m already tired of Cheerleader and Two Weeks, yes due partly to the fact that they are singles, bu compared to the other (Rossen) songs, these two have no depth. Southern Point and Dory are great. Both sound like they could have come off of Yellow House.
Wow. Way to kick GM when it’s already down. Evan, it’s not like GM made any money from using your song…
Feist = Grizzly Bear
Grizzly Bear does appear to have a wider span of appeal than Animal Collective. I’ve held that personal belief since Yellow House, and now apparently I have Billboard backing me up. Animal Collective is great don’t get me wrong, but their tribal undertones (on this album) are understandably not going to penetrate the bubble that is the American music scene as well as Grizzly Bear’s smooth amalgamation of folk and ’50s pop. And Grizzly Bear did this in 3 albums, compared to Animal Collective’s collection, which brings up another point that Animal Collective’s lack of sound direction from album to album may also play a role.
Come on. We all know why everyone here hates MGMT now. (hint: they became more mainstream)
What is with all the arguing? Either you like them or you don’t. I happen to like them.
That being said, I think Veckatimest is beautiful, yet somehow, it just does not sound as good as Yellow House to me. And I’s sorry, but I think Cheerleader is a bit overrated. Ok song, but t is very monotonous. The real standouts on Veckatimest for me are “Fine For Now”, “Dory” and “I Live With You.”
Anyway, I’m going to see them June 11 in NC.

I hate Ann.
