What Else Is There?
I’m finding myself strangely attracted to Nick Allbrook after watching this.
Alright, after a couple of listens, this is what I’ve come up with.
Handy is Izzy’s Fancy
Foil is Lorde’s Royals
Word Crimes is Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines
Inactive is Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive
Tacky is Pharrell’s Happy
Also, Mission Statement seems to be Crosby, Stills & Nash inspired, while First World Problems is obviously a fake Pixies song.
Finally, the Polka rapid fires through Wrecking Ball, Pumped Up Kicks, Best Song Ever, Gangnam Style, Call Me Maybe, Scream And Shout, Somebody That I Used To Know, Timber, Sexy And I Know It, Thrift Shop, and Get Lucky.
I may have missed connections in a few of the other songs, if anyone figures something out, please let me know.
Isn’t it crazy he’s been doing this for over 30 years? And he’s still crunching it. Thank you Weird Al!
Anyone have a mirror? Please!
Does this mean we’re in store for a new album? Or is it just a one time headlining spot (cash grab?) What has Andre been up to for the last 7 years? Besides being in that cartoon.
I only recently started venturing into the comment section on Stereogum, but for some strange reason, it makes me feel good to know there is drama like this going on around here. Makes the place feel homey or something.
So MNDR takes the worst track on the new Metric album and makes it… not better. Kay.
Not really feeling this one, but if they manage to include anything as good as Pan on the next album, I’ll be excited.
