musically, radiohead are one of the greatest bands in the world. but lyrically, david berman is at the top of the class. as far as songwriting, "american water" is the greatest record ever written, period.

i remember when he was "former saxon shore drummer" j. tillman. i'm very pleased that he's with another extremely talented group of musicians. long may he run.

YES. i know this "cuthbert wilkins" would prefer to listen to something a little less dreary.. but if he/she cannot appreciate the wonders of great lake swimmers.. i don't know that any of us can be of much help.

1. after listening through "evil urges" a few times, mmj would do well to transport themselves six years back in time. 2. i believe i was referring to a few bands other than mmj, each of which have been known to benefit from gratuitous amounts of reverb on their vocals, as well as production by (or similar to) phil ek.

1. i believe the name of the genre you are looking for is "vocals that sound like they were recorded in a grain silo and produced by phil ek". 2. listen to "there's nothing wrong with love" and "keep it like a secret" by built to spill.. and the self-titled album by grand archives.

i know they're a highly influential band that's been around for a long time, and one of the first bands to ever use 3 or 4 part harmonies... but nobody owes anything to grizzly bear. seriously.

i agree that vampire weekend are generally lame/overhyped. but their sound really doesn't have much in common with spoon.

i will take the fact that no one has commented on the flaming lips' performance as a silent, universal agreement that their appearance was at once tasteful, over-the-top, cool, fun, and life-affirming.

Holy Fuck. It takes some sizeable testes to open a full-length album with a live track. Then again, pretty much everything on that album was recorded from straight-up live takes from what I understand. "Andorra" was also fantastic.. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if Dan Snaith takes home the prize.

ron paul does not bow to the apple empire and their shoddy foreign-made parts. ron paul listens to jackson frank and john fahey records on his vintage magnavox turntable. ron paul also enjoys the solid gold sounds of am radio.
