This year we’re back with the full gamut of categories — Best Album, Best Video, Best New Act, Best Song, Indie MVPs (aka Indie Crushes), along with the Videogum-presented
Best Movie, Best TV Show, and Best Viral Video. One member of the electorate will be chosen, at random, to win all 50 of the The Gummys’ Best Albums of 2011, and also a $100 card to AMC Theaters. Every member of the electorate will be on the hook for the results, also, so let’s do this like now, together, like a family. VOTE HERE.

Year-end list season is upon us! Historically this is a really fun and peaceable time of year where all your favorite media outlets make lists of all their favorite things and NAIL IT so hard that nobody feels dissatisfied or argues about anything. And yet, we are bringing back our fully realized version of the GUMMY AWARDS, so you can participate in a meaningful democratic process and take some personal responsibility for what albums, videos, new acts, and indie pin-ups are memorialized as the year’s very best and consequently torn asunder for comment-thread posterity. Welcome to the fourth annual Gummy Awards! The following results are based on thousands of Stereogum and Videogum readers’ votes for the best of 2009′s music, film, television, and Web videos. Because it’s almost 2010, you guys also decided on the Best Album Of The Decade. Yes, you only have yourselves to blame for yet another Aughts list. The results showcase great taste in all categories, so a slap on the collective back is in order.

As promised, to mark this historical decade-ending Gummy Awards, we gave away our biggest prize to date: Last night a randomly selected Floridian named Tom Callahan made a killing.
