lots of love for the choice in-game photo, gabe.
who downvoted all of these? that's just mean-spirited. that reminds me: mean squirrels.
sex & the kitty. (sorry.)
this one was particularly good, cinematographically speaking.
"sorry i'm late. a giant leach got me."
up was good, but that's not going to get me to give any sort of damn about this year's oscars. it's nice to see a serious man up for best picture, though. on a somewhat related note, colin firth was not in that movie.
this is great, because now, i have to hold stuff when i sleep. but with pajama jeans i can be like, 'where's my planner? there it is. "keep sleeping." all right, perfect.'
this seems like as good a place as any to put this. and they didn't have any sort of "how's our driving?" over at stereogum. if it gets ignored, fine. and i know this is a bit of a sensitive topic around here. but while i don't exactly waste too much of my time trying to comment on stereogum, i think it's still a great place to learn about new music. and i think there is a group of people that hang around here that would enjoy, and benefit from, having a civilized conversation about good music. if, say, stereogum just left a thread like this for us (gummers?) to use over the weekend to talk about new and/or good music, and to otherwise snark away in a democratic manner, then i think, first, they'd get a lot more traffic on weekends and, second, that stereogum could be allowed to have a sense of humor again. werttrew? scott? anyone?
well, linus and lucy was a nice touch, but who uses the phrase "scripted comedy series"?? AUGH!!
if you start ishatonu's video around 2:07 (after he shoots himself??), it's actually fairly enjoyable. lots of love for this video. i hope this kid makes it to his twenties, so he can realize that popularity and decency in a middle school setting are complete opposites.
further evidence that we did not push "keep fucking that chicken" nearly hard enough.
and by barracuda, i meant beluga. those are basically the same, right?
i think the fossil of a giant ground sloth spraying barracuda caviar onto an original picasso really summed things up well. see you in september, coco.
clearly, some people don't recognize a winning comment when they read one, because this one is golden.
how did that chris rock bit go? there are two types of red-headed people in this world: there are redheads, and then there are gingers?
what is that dog doing with those hamsters?
yeah. i mean, isn't this basically what everyone was thinking in the first place? new york is just a better fit for conan, and for letterman for that matter, and that's that. and los angeles is a better fit for phonies like jay leno.
i think you are overgeneralizing "comedy show," but you raise an interesting point about studio-audience, applause-sign types of comedy shows. that guy pitches a zinger like that, and then counts to four, and then starts talking again. that's pretty strange. did anyone ever watch sports night? contentwise, i found it decent, but i couldn't watch it because the laugh track just felt terribly out of place, and i couldn't get over it.
wait a minute. you mean to tell me i'm mostly irish? i don't like guinness, i rarely wear green on st. patrick's day, and i don't even look like a leprechaun!
how about magnet gabe, because you're trying to make everything about you? tattoo glasses gabe??
what do you mean, no?
jesus. we'd better not let these kids see metropolis, then.
so, if i'm reading this right, the sein's argument is: "i understand capitalism." gabe's ever-resonating, if somewhat moldy, argument is: "i don't care much for capitalism, and jay leno is the worst, and jerry seinfeld really needs larry david to do anything at all consequential." but the comparison of the seinfeld chronicles to the tonight show with conan o'brien, or, more to the point, of jerry seinfeld to conan o'brien, isn't really that good of one. because, whether conan's been in the 10:35 (cst ftw) time slot or the 11:37 or the 12:07 or whatever time slot, he's still been getting a paycheck from nbc for, what, fifteen years? seinfeld hadn't been on nbc for a month when all the fuss gabe describes took place. nbc understands conan's audience already, and has a general grasp on where he best fits into their lineup. i appreciate, and even agree with, gabe's sentiments, but it's apples and oranges, really.
gabe just won monster's ball.
twitter is the new hulu.
jeez. who made that list, lindsay lohan?
well-played, michelle. very well-played.
figure it out. nickelodeon. still in syndication on nickelodeon gas, which, OF COURSE!, stands for games & sports. she is also of lesser-known celebrity for having won some olympic gold medals in swimming, or something. p.s. i am twenty-four years old.
a gabevote in the comment threads.
salvation pizza is ten blocks from my apartment. and i don't even have tivo. i have practically no excuse not to go. i feel like this pizza party thing is going to makes things a little cliquy (highschoolgum) around here, if y'know what i mean. so what better a way to ail the impending jealousy and hurt from our collective disclusion than taking refuge in a clique our own? (amirite??)
i just spent the last fifteen minutes on jonesBIGASStruckrentalandstorage.com, and have shown enormous restraint in refraining from buying, for myself, the t-shirt/bumper sticker combo. so, i guess what i'm trying to say is, thank you.
okay, so i missed a suffix and a pronoun. but you get the gist.
i ran into red, yellow, & blue earlier this year, and it's been probably one of the five albums i've listened to most frequently since. these guys are solid, and i can't wait to hear more from them.
