Nice song and all, but do we really need more synth/electronic music? There are like 3 guitar bands left in the world. Wish they concentrated on their amazing rock abilities rather than trying to sound like everyone else.
There's a big problems with how the major labels are handling this. In the case of Spotify, for example, they took millions of dollars upfront for the song licenses and basically pocketed the money.
When it came time to pay royalties, Spotify was left with very little money to pay, having just paid off the labels.
The small labels who weren't in on the deal were screwed doubly as they didn't get paid money upfront and also couldn't get any royalties for their starving artists (which isn't technically the job of the labels, but that's a whole different story).
So here are the exclusions summed up:
1. All 90s bands
2. All 60s/70s CDs from the 80s/90s/and 2000s (meaning ALL 60s and 70s CDs?)
3. Soundtracks
4. Everything Pitchforky
5. Most 80s pop artists
6. Korn and the Deftones
So basically the only thing they'd buy is Justin Beiber and Anthrax?
I hope that for the new album these guys will finally realize that what they're exceptional at is being a guitar band, and stop fiddling about with all the electronic stuff.
