Well said. This is why I would love to see the PR budgets posted along with year-end list. It would help those that aren't as fortunate or have a "team" to not feel so dejected when they aren't included. Money makes the world go round. The music press feeds the beast.

Trust me, I know. I run a label and I'm NOT one of those kids. But for the vast majority of indie listeners, they don't know that about these labels. It should be more known.
