Agreed. I've seen his twitter account 2-3 times and it was a nonsense stream of consciousness. This is a pretty focused explanation of his thought process leading up to the shirt.
Excellent choice. These guys have every right to be terrible simply because of the length of time they have been making music and the general trend for consistency to wean over a musical career. But their output is powerful and perfect. Fuck they are amazing.
That is ok if you don't like it but if you want to get the full experience, do this. Drive through a highway flanked by massive wind turbines while listening to this album. They will spin like lumbering beasts while you wonder when the machines will take over. The Godspeed in your ears and veins will make you sure that it will be before you die. That is what happened to me with their last album.
Jesus, thank you. If you scroll through stereogum's main page, surfing from newest to oldest this post doesn't show up. I thought that all posts were shown on the main page in chronological order. I'm questioning everything now but I'll post my thoughts over next door at the the Godspeed thread.
I'm digging this. You good people at stereogum must be losing your minds with all of the new releases available (Earl, Sufjan, Action Bronson, Kendrick, Death Cab, Animal Collective) within days of each other, I know that I am . Can we get a story about Godspeed! You Black Emperor's new album streaming too? I've been following this site for years and have never seen a shitstorm (shiticane?) of amazing music like this. Exciting time to be alive!

Sabrosa, Ricky's Theme and Transitions are all stone-cold killers. Shambala is also awesome and Bobo On The Corner is a pleasant soda cracker between sips.
Pitchfork advance has acquainted me with some gems and this is right up at the top of the pile. I've never listened to these guys much but this is a great batch of tracks!
Yup, their debut is way too low on this list. A solid list besides this very glaring omission.
QOTSA albums best to worst:
1. Songs For The Deaf
2. S/T
3. Rated R
4. Lullabies To Paralyze
5. …Like Clockwork
6. Era Vulgaris
Yes I was disappointed to not see Soma, my favorite strokes song. Other than that pretty decent list. I was never a huge fan of NYC Cops, they have better.
Me:
1. Kill the moonlight
2. Girls Can Tell
3. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
4. Gimme Fiction
5. Series of Sneaks
6. Transference
7. Telephono
Favorite song: Don't You Evah. In my top 5 favorite songs of all time.
EV has a couple killers tracks but I'd agree it is their weakest effort yet. I do like it but quality of songwriting wise, I would understand why most people don't like it.
