Why are people applauding the execution of murderers? Well, because murderers are being executed. (along with some unfortunate de facto non-guilty inmates. Hence why the death penalty is wrong)
In a world where proof is 100% attainable, I would be in favour of the death penalty for murderers of innocents. State-sanctioned death of murderers who has breached the ultimate line in our social contract - the existence of life in other people - is a matter of debate, and some people quite obviously feel justice have been met.
When it comes to "money spent on saving animals' lives in the First World contra money spent on preventing people dying from diarrhea in the third world", it's not easy. But... the money not spent on a cool prosthetic-thingamajig for a dog, would be spent on a new car or something - not reliable third world aid.
Try it on animals first. That's my policy.
I logged in just to upvote you two guys/gals. Your wielding of an extremely apt (and superfun) Simpson-reference is very skillful. I suspect your respective midichlorian-counts to be quite high.
Stopped watching after half a minute. As long as SJP will live, she can not use voice-over-narration. (Only in malls, right?).... No, but this. It sounds, looks and feels like a SATC-spinoff.
