I used to realllly wanna love the Raveonettes, liked the 2nd cd a lot...but then they put out Love in a Trashcan or whatever. Not only did it suck, the whole album, but they made the critical mistake of playing that song shit live on tv. And as a guitarist/musician, to have 3 dorks up there all strumming the same thing, and not one of them could play that simple echo-y lead part that's thruout the whole song? That cemented my hatred:) They had to LOOP a simple lil rockabilly lead part?? whats the lead guy's job in that band anyway, might as well go all the way and fucking karoke lip-sync kaeroke all your shows ala a teen popstar ya eurotrash posers:D (too harsh?) i still do like their 'sound' though...there i said something nice;)
Umm 2 GIANT paragraphs guy...which no 1 with a life would ever read, r u kidding me?? but anyway, Radiohead are popular because of media blah blah?? Are u KIDDING ME?? Radiohead FORCED the media into jumping onto their bandwagon by putting out such amazing music and being great live AND having great b sides And great videos, and great t-shirts, AND genius musicians thru n thru. They EARNED it you stupid twat, theres no filler with Radiohead, no fakeness, its all real, whether you get it or not, they are the complete antithesis of media whores. So yeah, be MORE jealous cool anti-RH/two Giant paragraph ranting guy, good luck with that, but u will never 'win' this battle.
i swear i commented on this earlier...ah well, twas a passing fancy:)
(ya dont wanna be a Sting now do ya?!) (cough/snort)
NOOO, i mean yer 1/2 right, last guy, but i side with the concert set complainer:) Solo guys WAYYY too often like play their shit only, n it's just kinda rediculous most the time. To me there's zero excuse to not at least play a couple of the 'oldies' ...i mean, at least b sides, not single tracks...or just re-do a song in a different way, throw yer fans a bone ya fuck:)
OH RIGHT he is in that new Wes Anderson thing, but it's animated, not sure that counts:) Apparantly Wes let him do the whole soundtrack, take THAT dude from Devo who did Rushmore:P (the fantastic mr fox is zee title of said movie, just came to me)
Again, we STILL don't know who this twat is NOR do we care. N by 'we' i mean 99.9999% of the world's population:)
i'll have to see the actually video but...TOO MANY 'DUUDES!' haha...woulda been a nice lil Freddy Mercury tribute if it was all female too, and ...better? haha.
what the fuck!!! i hope to god the crowd beat the shit outta that stupid idiot, "Oi look at me, i'm gonna be a hit-a-defenseless-aged-crooner-in-the-head-who-just-had-heart-problems-his-last-gig Hero!!" (though i guess at least he's finally got something to talk to David Bowie about.)
'umm' ok. IF it was mentioned it was tiny, thats all i know, i've been all over here the last few days n didnt see a stitch sooo...YAY, u win. Got it from today from the CNN new blurb-er on my igoogle page ...OH btw, THOM YORKE SUCKS!! [(cough) front page (cough).]
Umm Stereogum, i believe a beloved indie-electro rock drummer died tragically in nyc saturday night...perhaps a blip?? a la dickhead who mentioned Radiohead for a half second?
if he doesnt do a Deleware album imma gonna be pissed!
Nice to see Eddy's therapy paying dividends, almost like he's got his humor back?!
Emm Fiery what now?? N since when did daring to take on 'the best band on the planet' earn you an instant bulletin tag on every other music blog on the planet? I like the old days, when you'd have to like wear a swastika or strike an elderly woman to earn a news blip, riiight?!? ya knoww? whos with me?!
...oh yeah, theres a reason that His n Hers, Different Class AND Hardcore were the only 3 Pulp albums chosen for the deluxe treatment;) (cough)
Man REALLY!?! wow, that blows me away...that We Love Life album was SOOO depressing compared to regular jarvis/pulp stuff. N the fact he tried to write every song with a nature-trees/weeds tie-in just made it all the more annoying. As if this was the 2nd consecutive concept album he HAD to do to totally show his chops compared to Hardcore in a more deep poetic way, i could never get into it. Almost every Pulp fan i know loves Hardcore, the back end is lacking, but the first 7 tracks plus the Like A Friend bonus is plenty to love.
No no no, Strokes are not a flash in the pan, not at all, they're too good. Their guitarists are really amazing, n being a guitarist from way back i do not throw that term around, n when they're clicking they're one of the best out there. They've only done 3 cds, they're all good, i really liked the last one, unfortunately they're just on a 4 year side-project sabbatical apparantly. YYYs have been disappointing though i agree, but then again, who can live up to that much hype? Not many, i still like n beilieve in them, they got real talent too, just doesn't always show up in cd form. But live i'd see 'em any day any time.
Ya know, i was listening to his new cd...and by midway thru track 3 i was like 'omg...its effing GENIUS! holy crap, im telling everyone to get this!!' ...Nnnnn then tracks 4, 5, n 6 came...OK songs, i guess, but, totally ruined the avalanche of catchy tune momentum, but oh well, still a good solo effort. N it's probably good its not flawlessly amazing, he'd prolly be way too tempted to pull a Gwen Stephani for the next 5 years...and then the strokes boys would be all jealousss.. yadda yadda yadda:)
Oh n while we're on Jarvis...wouldn't Jarvis be great on a hip, smartly written HBO-type comedy?? Perhaps not, never seen him act, but sure seems like he'd be made for it. At LEAST he could be a ...snarky know-it-all best friend on a hit show. Like...say we tweaked the new hbo 'hit' comedy Bored to Death...just swap Zach Galifinackis, who i LUV, with Jarvis...n instead of having him be a loser yankee slob artist, just have him be a wacky shrink?? oh it could work:D
hahaha oh man, sounds...GREAT:) But, fitting for that album...one of the larger post-great-cd-cant-wait-to-hear-the-new-one! letdowns in my life:p ...OOH actually, Hey Stereogum, how bout we concoct a list of greatest LETDOWN albums of all-time?!?! Oooh now THAT would be intriguing:) (oh n then Stereogum, could u FINALLY fix this gayass GRAY vs. BLACK font thing?? pwetty pleez...cant be THAT hard.)
You're referencing the TREES video?! Not This Is Hardcore, etc?? I've never even seen the Trees video, didnt know nor care if there even was one, thats how disheartened i was with that album...huuuge letdown. It's probably why i love his solo stuff so much, at the very least his fun mojo is back in full effect:)
